Majestic Cinema Day! 🎬🍿🐳

✨ The OOSHies headed to the Majestic Cinemas to watch The Last Whale Singer, kicking back with friends & sharing popcorn. Back at Active OOSH Tacking Point, the fun kept rolling! They:
⚽ Burnt off energy with soccer & a bit of Just Dance
🐠 Crafted their own ocean headbands
🖍️ Coloured in for an ocean themed colouring competition
💇 Took turns styling their friends’ hair & makeup in the Active OOSH Salon
🧠 Put their thinking caps on for movie themed trivia

💙 A mix of quiet downtime & active play gives kids the chance to recharge. Crafting, styling & trivia also build creativity, fine motor skills & memory.

🌱 Moving between relaxing at the movies & lively games helped children tune into what their bodies & minds need, supporting a strong sense of wellbeing in My Time, Our Place.

NRL Footy Clinic Day! 🏉

✨ Our OOSHies kicked off the morning decorating biscuits while watching the footy 🍪, then burned off energy with an obstacle course & group games. After refuelling at lunch, our NRL footy clinic incursion took centre stage, with the OOSHies tackling skills, challenges & activities & showing off their teamwork. 🙌 They also designed their own footy jerseys 👕🎨 before winding down the big day with a sausage sizzle for arvo tea, dancing, free play & plenty of laughs. 💃🎶

💙 Learning from an NRL clinic builds coordination, confidence & a love of staying active.

🌱 Moving their bodies & backing their teammates helped the children feel capable & proud of their efforts, nurturing a strong sense of wellbeing in My Time, Our Place.

AO Challenge Cup Day! 🏆

✨ OOSHies tackled challenge after challenge & absolutely smashed it, racking up points for our service! 🙌🏽 Our educators jumped in to earn points too 😂 & an epic ice cream bar 🍦 capped off all that hard work. As the afternoon rolled on with dancing & free play, the Jayde & Ella dance-off quickly grew into one HUGE dance party! 💃🕺🎶

💙 Seeing educators join in & have a go helps kids feel comfortable, connected & keen to try new things themselves.

🦋 Working hard for their service & celebrating together helped the children feel proud of what they achieved & part of a team, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of identity.

Footy Finals Fever at Active OOSH Tacking Point! 🏈🏟️

✨ Our OOSHies warmed up with some themed colouring, then helped set up a challenging football skills obstacle course & cheered loudly as our educators had a crack at it too 😆 Our superstar cheerleaders created stage-ready routines & touch footy games kept everyone moving, especially when taking on Miss Jayde (she's really good)! After cooling off with Zooper Doopers, the OOSHies designed their own NRL jerseys, showed off their best moves in a mini dance circle, tested their sports trivia & painted each other's faces to show their team pride, before a sausage sizzle in the sunshine wrapped up the day ☀️

💙 Designing courses, routines & jerseys helps kids practise planning, teamwork & creative thinking in ways that feel like pure fun.

🌱 Mixing high-energy games with calmer afternoon activities helped the children stay active while also finding time to rest & recharge, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

Remote Control Arena Experience Revs Up Active OOSH! 🏎️

✨ The OOSHies took the controls during our Remote Control Arena Experience incursion, racing cars & testing their driving skills. Between turns, they kept the energy up with a dance party, footy & group games. Later, the OOSHies built LEGO bridges, crafted DIY paper plate wheels, coloured in & made their own fairy bread for afternoon tea.

💙 Keeping busy while waiting for a turn helps kids build patience & learn to manage their excitement in a fun, positive way.

🌱 Switching between high energy racing & calmer creative play helped the children tune into how they feel & find their own balance, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

Spin to Win on Bingo Mystery Box Day at Active OOSH! 🎰

✨ The OOSHies earned spins as they played round after round of Bingo. Two surprise FREE SPIN moments gave OOSHies extra spins for making great choices, showing kindness & following instructions. In our Mystery LEGO Building Challenge, they designed & decorated their very own mystery boxes to keep their special goodies in. Afternoon tea sparked a spontaneous dance battle, while sunscreen time brought back our favourite tradition, the Chicken Dance-Off! After such a big day, everyone was ready to wind down & relax.

💙 Turning everyday routines like sunscreen into a game helps kids build healthy habits they actually enjoy.

Strike! Day 2 of Spring VAC at Active OOSH Tacking Point 🎳

✨ The OOSHies kicked off The Bowl day with an action packed bowling excursion. They also whipped up their own cake pops, ready to decorate once they got back. The rest of the day was all about colouring themed sheets, building with Minecraft blocks & LEGO Disaster Island Cards, chasing a soccer ball in the sunshine & racing around the playground. After all that fun, the worn out OOSHies wound down with a quiet movie & some calm inside time.

💙 A mix of big adventures & quiet moments helps kids tune into their energy & recharge when they need to.

🌱 Switching between bowling, building, ball games & a cosy movie gave the children plenty of movement with rest built in, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

Day 1 of Spring Vacation Care! 🌸

✨ After a quick birthday cheer for Ella 🎂🥳, our OOSHies bounced off to PCYC for a day full of action 🤸‍♀️⚽ Back at OOSH, they danced, played soccer, designed their own gymnastics leotards & made friendship bracelets. The OOSHies also started their very own Vacation Care Passports & proudly collected their first stamp, before winding down with some quiet time to relax & recharge 🌼💛

💙 A mix of active play, creative projects & quiet time helps children manage their energy & feel settled on busy holiday days.

🦋 Designing their own leotards, making friendship bracelets & celebrating a birthday together helped the children express who they are & feel like they belong. This supports the My Time, Our Place outcome: children have a strong sense of identity.

At the end of last term Jayde, Angel & I had the pleasure of attending Tacking Point Public’s Performing Arts Showcase.

It was so beautiful to see the outcomes of all our OOSHIES hard work - early morning band practices, practicing dance routines of an afternoon, rehearsing scripts & a clear dedication to their art. We are so grateful that we were able to witness them all in action & so incredibly proud of them

School Holidays are here! ☀️

What to pack each day for OOSH:
🧢 Hat: sun safety first!
🍎 A full lunch box: please pack enough for a full day, as we are very active!
💧 A full drink bottle: staying hydrated is important!
👕 A spare change of clothes: just in case we get stuck into some extra messy, creative or adventurous fun! 🎨💦
👟 Closed-in shoes: essential for all activities & for everyone’s safety. Crocs, slides & thongs are a no-go! 🚫
💊 Medication: If your child requires medication, please make sure it is in date, clearly labelled (tablets in a webster pack) & accompanied by the appropriate documentation/authorisation. Please be aware that without the required medication & documentation, your child will not be able to attend OOSH.
