Last Friday Mrs Dance & Miss Rene visited each class to share the winners from the father’s Day colouring in competition ran by our P&F team.

Mrs Sheen had a hard job judging all the submissions but she was able to pick 1 from each class who got their picture framed to gift Dad on Sunday.

Congratulations to Hope from Year 2 who was the overall winner and she also received a gift basket to gift Dad (who actually got it a-little early) along with her framed picture.

We hope you all had a lovely Sunday celebrating the important people in your lives.

Congratulations to both our Junior and Senior Choirs who participated in the 50th Pilbara Music Festival yesterday. We were proud of the way that our students represented our school and showed dedication to learning the songs and performing with confidence. Thank you to Miss McCormack, Mrs Paul, Mrs Harry and Mr A for providing guidance and support for our students in the choirs.

Please see the link below of the performance.

This week at St Cecilia’s: We are RESPECTFUL!

Now that students have been introduced to our Whole School Wellbeing Framework, we are beginning to explore what our expectations actually look like in action. Our first focus is We are Respectful during Learning Time. Students will be learning that being Respectful in the classroom can look like listening when someone else is speaking, using kind and encouraging words, following instructions, caring for classroom materials, respecting different ideas and working kindly with others.

Teachers will explicitly teach and model these behaviours and continue recognising students with our whole-school tokens when they demonstrate our expectations.

You might like to continue the conversation at home by asking your child: “How were you Respectful during learning today?”

We are already excited to see our whole-school token collector beginning to fill!

Our Breakfast Club continues to prove just how much it means to our students!

Whether they’re enjoying a delicious breakfast, catching up with friends, or rolling up their sleeves to help serve others, it’s wonderful to see our students embracing this special Monday morning tradition.

A huge thank you to Bowan, Chanel, Kobe & Norah who have helped these last two weeks. We couldn’t do it without you!

This term, our students (and Mrs Drysdale) have been busy exploring, experimenting and discovering with some exciting new STEM equipment made possible through the generous grant from Hancock Iron Ore.

Our students have absolutely loved getting hands-on with:
⚡ Electricity & solar packs – experimenting with circuits and discovering how electricity works.
🔮 Spheres & forces – exploring movement, forces and cause and effect.
⚙️ Simple machines – investigating how different machines make work easier.
🔗 Chain reactions – our younger students have had so much fun creating and testing their own chain reactions!

There has been plenty of curiosity, problem-solving, teamwork and, most importantly, FUN happening in our classrooms!

Without the support of the Hancock Iron Ore grant program, we simply wouldn’t have been able to provide these fantastic hands-on learning opportunities for our students.

From all of us at St Cecilia’s Catholic Primary School, a heartfelt THANK YOU for investing in our students and helping us bring STEM 2.0 learning to life!

We are so grateful for your generosity and support of our school community.

Thank you, Hancock Iron Ore!
