We’re thrilled for this weekend’s AIDA Subtropics Pool Comp, the third edition of this event, with 13 athletes from 5 different nations competing! After successful events in Port Douglas and Amed, Bali, we’re excited to bring the comp to the subtropics of the Gold Coast this year, in partnership with OceanSense. A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors for supporting this event, and to the volunteers and judges for dedicating their time to grow the sport. Best of luck to all the athletes!

The Silicone Weight Belt comes in pink so it’s easy for your buddies to spot you 🙌

We recommend use of a silicone weight belt for freediving as this material stretches. Weight belts that do not stretch can impair your ability to take a full breath.

LEVEL 2 COURSE COMPLETED

On a Molchanovs Wave 2, students are taught to freedive to 30m on one breath. Foundational skills and techniques are refined and we dive deeper into:

💧Frenzel with reverse packing
💧Rescues past 10 meters
💧No-fins freediving to depth

Wow! It’s already been a week since AIDA TROPICS AMED 2024 wrapped up!

The second day of our event saw all white cards from competing athletes along with a few extra national records for India and Panama!

Congratulations to who took overall first place for women AND the event overall! Congrats to for taking first place for men!

Finally, congrats to all the athletes on their performances and for bringing big smiles and happy dives 🤩🥳

Couldn’t have done it without ATA2024 Team and volunteers!

What an exciting first day of the AIDA Tropics Amed Freediving Pool Competition. Two new National Records have been set for India (DYN 83m F) and Panama (DYNB 109m F).

Day 2 kicks off tomorrow morning with static apnea from 9:30am. Come down to Ocean Prana and check it out.

We are loving the new Sport Bifins. The silicone footpockets are super comfy and just like short silicone bifins, the supinator provides arch support to help translate power to the blade more effectively. Blades are removable and come in a range of materials and styles to suit the application. This particular combination of medium carbons are perfect for performance freediving and spearfishing. We also think they look pretty sleek 😏
