Last week four of our students had the opportunity to present a workshop at the 2026 YASTSA STEM Congress at the Adelaide Oval. The Congress is an opportunity for Aboriginal students from across South Australia to meet and learn about how STEM, (Science, Technology Engineering and Maths) can be used in many different ways and lead to future career opportunities.
Carlton School students presented a workshop on making soap and aromatic oil using a plant with guidance from traditional elders. Students had the opportunity to listen to keynote speakers pursuing careers in STEM, participate in a cooking workshop by OzHarvest, sink a model submarine thanks to ASC and see DemMob perform live.
Our four students did an amazing job of presenting their workshop and representing Carlton School on a statewide stage. The girls did an amazing job of displaying our school values of respect, resilience and responsibility.
