Through hands-on learning - from Kaurna language to damper making and Indigenous symbols - our children are building understanding, respect and appreciation for First Nations culture. A privilege we deeply value in our learning community and continue to thank God for the Kaurna People.

📸 Looking back at 2002

24 years later, we’re proud that our Senior School is still a place where students can step away from the desk and build fiirst-hand skills & value of trades.

As we celebrate 50 years of our College community, it’s incredible to look back at how our spaces have evolved over time at Portside Christian College.

A throwback to 2007 & our school playground, what was once a traditional playground has grown into our vibrant, nature-play area built in 2021.

Celebrating 50 years of memories, growth and play!

📸 Classroom Throwback!

As we celebrate 50 years of Portside Christian College, it’s photos like this that show just how much has changed since the school first opened.

This classroom snapshot from 1983 looks a little different to today, paper across the tables, chalkboards at the front & no technology!

Do you recognise this classroom or spot a familiar face?

There’s something special about seeing students absorbed in a good book. 📚

Our primary students have been preparing for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 through independent reading and quiet moments spent enjoying books together. Selected this year is 'Luna Roo: the Kangaroo Baller', which highlights teamwork, persistence and the enjoyment that reading can bring.

Next Wednesday 27 May at 11am, we will join students across Australia coming together at the same time to read this book. We value being part of opportunities like this at our College, as we help foster a love of reading and create meaningful shared experiences for our students.

Our new three storey Senior School building commenced in 2023. This hub is a combination space for Art and Science, maker space, general student amenities, heat and eat spaces for students and locker spaces within the building.

This development provides our Senior students with the space for learning, creativity & support, that allows them to extend abilities and create independence in line with our curriculum, ensuring students are prepared for tertiary or further study by a committed team of teachers who mentor and coach.

Reaching our 50th year gives us a chance to look back at how much our campus and community have transformed.

It’s hard to believe these were our computers a mere 20 years ago.

Whilst the tools may change, the foundation for learning at Portside Christian College remains the same.
