Hunter Valley Aviation We train pilots for all levels of licences and ratings in our wide range of aircraft.

Hunter Valley Aviation, based at Cessnock Airport (30 minutes from Newcastle) is a centre for aviation training and other flying services, including private aircraft hire, charter and scenic flights.

GoPink for Breast Cancer 🎀

Did you know
•1 in 7 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime
•Approx. 2 Aussies are diagnosed every 2 hours
•1 in 716 men will be diagnosed in their lifetime

Today we held a morning tea and made the pledge to GoPink to help raise funds for The National Breast Cancer Foundation to help support research for early detection and preventative treatments for Breast Cancer.

We would like to thank all of the staff at HVA & Eagle and students who participated and donated, it was a great morning to help raise funds!

Basair campuses have currently have raised $778.00 of a $500 Goal in online donations. Go Team Basair 🥳

Basair Graduate (2011) 👨‍🎓Toby Dorn is living the dream! He is the Chief Pilot & HAAMC at BlueSky Airways ✈️ in the Hunter Valley, and runs his own business as well. You’ll find him instructing in incredible vintage aircraft (like the Tigermoth) one day, and the next, it’ll be a charter in the Caravan, Chieftain or Beaver (Seaplane). Every day is a new flying adventure for Mr Dorn. Check it out

Q: “What was a highlight from your time at Basair?”

A: “I learnt excellent instructional techniques from having the best instructors. There really is no replacement for a good instructor. Flight training and flying in general can be complicated (especially when you’re at that learning curve) so it requires really good communication to get the best results. It’s really all about having the technical knowledge and being able to apply it – and the application largely comes down to communication.”

Basair Graduate (2011)👨‍🎓, FO David Farrugia, now flying the Lear Jet 75 for Zenith Aviation ✈️, based out of London. David flies his private passengers at 45000ft to beautiful summer destinations all over Europe, and sometimes gets to stay there until they want to come back!

Q: “What was a highlight from your time at Basair?”

A: “Definitely the mindset that I established. I learnt to hold high standards and to focus on constantly getting better. Pilots have to do the same thing throughout their entire career, and it’s the pilot’s job to master the art of flying, every day, at every opportunity possible. It stayed with me throughout my entire career”
