Year 6 Group 2 has arrived at Ranch Camp! 🏕️

Our students are ready for an exciting few days of new experiences, challenges, and opportunities to step outside their comfort zones.

A key focus for camp is CONFIDENCE. We’ll be encouraging students to try new things, give everything a go, support one another, and build confidence as they take on new challenges.

We’re looking forward to seeing them embrace the experience and create some wonderful memories together!

Year 6 Ranch Camp- Group 1 Day 2

What a fantastic second day of camp! Our students have been blessed with perfect weather as they continue to build their confidence and challenge themselves to step outside their comfort zones.

From trying new things and embracing challenges to encouraging and supporting one another, it’s been wonderful to see our students growing in confidence, having fun, and creating great memories together.

We’re so proud of the way they are encouraging each other and giving things a go!

Year 6 Group 1 has arrived at Ranch Camp!

Our students are ready for an exciting few days of new experiences, challenges and plenty of opportunities to step outside their comfort zones.

Our recent wellbeing survey, completed by our students, gave us valuable insight into an important focus for camp: CONFIDENCE. Many students identified goals such as “try new things” and “give everything a go”, while some shared that they may not know what to say to themselves when feeling nervous.

Throughout camp, we’ll encourage students to embrace the ups and downs, use strategies to overcome challenges, reflect on their experiences and, most importantly, grow their confidence.

We’re looking forward to seeing them challenge themselves, support one another and make some wonderful memories!

💙 Happy Father’s Day from Saltwater P–9 College! 💙

Today we celebrate and thank all of the incredible fathers, grandfathers, carers and father figures within our Saltwater community.

Thank you for the guidance, support, encouragement and love you provide each and every day. The important role you play in the lives of our students is truly valued and appreciated.

We hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day filled with love, laughter and special moments with family and friends.

Dear Year 7–9 Families,

Only five days remain to secure your child’s spot in our annual House Sports Days, taking place during the final week of this term!

To ensure your child can participate, please complete the required approval and payment through XUNO by Monday 7 September.

Students will represent their House and compete in a range of activities, including indoor soccer, dodgeball, basketball, beach volleyball and tug-of-war.

We encourage all students to get involved as we build House spirit across the college and enjoy some friendly competition!

Book Week is off to a fantastic start for our Year 9 students!

Students had the exciting opportunity to meet Jane Harrison, author of the text we are currently studying, Becoming Kirrali Lewis. Jane shared fascinating insights into the story, her writing process and the research behind the novel. Students also had the chance to ask questions that will help them as they prepare for their final essays.

A select group of students then participated in a writing workshop with Jane, where they explored the novel in greater depth, learnt about the importance of research and accuracy when writing, and even received a sneak peek into what the sequel will be about!

A wonderful way to celebrate Book Week and connect our students with the author behind the story they are studying!

🏆🚨Father’s Day Stall – Coming Soon! 🚨🏆

Dear Saltwater Families,

We are excited to be holding our annual Father’s Day Stall from Monday 31st August to Friday 4th September 🏆

Students in P-6 will have the opportunity to visit the stall twice during the week with their class. Your child's classroom teacher will communicate when their class is scheduled to attend. The stall will also be open daily from 8:30am – 2:50pm.

There will be a wonderful range of gifts available, including Dad essentials items, self-care products, mug-nificent gifts and more, with prices ranging from $2 to $10 🎁

🛍️ Important Information:
• Cash sales only
• Please send your child with money in a labelled ziplock bag (they will be caring for it during the day)
• Students are asked to bring a carry bag to carry their items home

We look forward to this being another fantastic event and can’t wait to see the thoughtful gifts our students choose for the special people in their lives.

Today, a group of our Year 6 students proudly represented Saltwater P–9 College at Deakin University in our very first Tournament of Minds (TOM) competition!

Since Term 2, these students have worked incredibly hard, developing their creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking skills, while taking genuine ownership of their learning. Today, they proudly presented their solution in the Language Literature discipline and represented Saltwater with confidence, enthusiasm, and determination.

A very special thank you to Ms Pietrapertosa, who saw an opportunity for our students and made it happen. Her time, energy and commitment to establishing TOM at Saltwater has created something we hope will continue to grow across our school for years to come.

Congratulations to our inaugural TOM team! You have set the foundations for those who will follow in your footsteps. What a fantastic first for Saltwater!
