We’re back in 2025 & deep into our nature play this year 🍃

So much negotiation, problem-solving, & teamwork went into this little creation that the children built all on their own at our first 2025 visit to bush playgroup a couple of weeks back. They built their own nature cubby between the 4 of them, fit with chairs for everyone whilst I stood back and watched them hard at work.

I was so proud of each of them, everyone had a role to play & they didn’t need me for anything because they put their previously learnt skills to work to make it all come together as a team.

Everyone worked together gathering resources from the bush lands and strategically placing each of the items to create their own stick house.

Such a fun morning that has been talked about for weeks, we can’t wait to go back & do it all again! 🪵🍂

Little bit late to the party in sharing, but super grateful for my families that voted for me in the educator awards this year, which led to me being named a nominee.

Feeling very lucky to have such supportive families that trust me with the care of their little ones each day and that I was worthy of being nominated in my very first year of family day care 🥹

Proud of me & that I decided to take the leap into this career path, I truely love what I do every day, the fun, the freedom, the challenges, and the in between.

🤎 BUSH PLAYGROUP 🤎

Yesterday we attended our first bush playgroup in the Barossa Bushlands and put our new messy play suits to the test! We’ve recently been trying to still get in as much nature play as possible despite the weather conditions and yesterday’s playgroup was the perfect addition to this!

We had the best fun getting all muddy and messy, the kiddies were in their absolute element 🍃🩵

We went on a bear hunt! 🐻🍃

Today we read the good old storybook ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ and then we did just that! We took a spontaneous trip out into nature and looked for all the things from our story book. We found long wavy grass, squishy squashy mud, a river, and even a cave!

I can confirm we did not come across any bears, but a little pretending from the kiddies getting back to the house as quick as we could made the bear chase feel real!

So much magic in a completely spontaneous, unplanned, child-led day ☺️✨
