Finals Week!

A huge week is in store for some of our sports teams to wrap up Term 3. All 3 of the Rugby Union teams have made it to the Grand Final held on Wednesday evening at Toowoomba Sports Grounds. If you're able to, come cheer on the teams in what looks to be a fantastic night of footy!

On Saturday, 3 of our GBC teams have made it to the Finals held at TSAC. It looks to be an action-packed morning as the Basketball, Touch and Volleyball teams look to win their division.

Congratulations to all teams and coaches for making it all this way. Go Faith!

Our Dance Troupe is busy rehearsing and putting the finishing touches on their routines ahead of the Lockyer District Dance Festival next Friday. ✨

Yesterday, our Foundation Phase students welcomed dads and special guests to the College for an afternoon of food, fun and a little friendly competition at our Father’s Day BBQ! 💙

After sharing lunch together, it was time for Dads vs Kids - with dodgeball, speed portrait painting and Mario Kart putting skills (and bragging rights!) to the test. There was also plenty of teamwork during the Sphero Battle, as dads and students joined forces to protect their balloons and outlast the competition.

From questionable artistic masterpieces 🎨 to dodgeball showdowns, Mario Kart rivalries and plenty of laughs, it was a wonderful afternoon spent together.

Thank you to all the dads and special guests who joined us, and we wish all our Faith dads, grandads and father figures a very Happy Father’s Day for Sunday! 💙

GBC Athletics

On Monday, we competed in the annual GBC Athletics Carnival held at QSAC. It was a fantastic day with very competitive events taking place. All our students competed hard and allowed the team to make an impressive improvement on last year. Congratulations to everyone who came and competed on the day and a huge thank you to the staff who made the day possible.

🎓 Celebrating our QATSIF Scholars

Faith Lutheran College is incredibly proud to celebrate the graduation of our QATSIF Scholarship holders and acknowledge the commitment, achievement and exciting pathways ahead for our First Nations students.

It was particularly special to see Aliya take an important role in the graduation ceremony on Thursday, helping to officially open the event by lighting the Torres Strait Islander candle.

Aliya has much to be proud of. While completing her Year 12 studies, she has also been undertaking an electrical apprenticeship, demonstrating tremendous commitment as she balances school, training and work. Her apprenticeship will provide a pathway into full-time employment next year as she takes the next exciting step beyond Faith. A tremendous achievement!

Congratulations to Aliyah and all of our graduating QATSIF Scholarship holders. We look forward to seeing where your next chapter takes you!

📚 Book Week at Faith! 📚

We’re celebrating all things books, stories and imagination this week, with plenty happening across the College!

Wednesday’s assembly brought plenty of colour and creativity with our Book Week Costume Parades – it was fantastic to see so many characters step straight off the page and into Faith! 📖✨

The celebrations have continued throughout the week with a great line-up of activities:

🎧 Monday: Audio Chill Zone featuring the orchestral story Peter and the Wolf
🎵 Tuesday: Music Kahoot Quiz
📖 Wednesday: Literary Jam Session – a one-of-a-kind collaborative improv story!
🎬 Thursday & Friday: Screenings of our 2025 Faith Musical, High School Musical

Add in displays, activities and plenty more around the College, and it’s been a wonderful week celebrating the joy of reading, storytelling and creativity.
