Today the Queensland Premier announced a delay to the start of the school academic year for all students in all schools across the state. More information will be shared as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, the FAQ page by the department is available here: https://qed.qld.gov.au

Today’s announcement means:
- vulnerable children and those of essential workers who are able to return to school from 24 January 2022, however this will be for supervision purposes only.
- instruction (ie learning) for students in years Prep to 10 will not commence until all students return to school on 7 February 2022.
- students in years 11 and 12 will commence remote learning in the week of 31 January 2022. Teachers of years 11 and 12 should be given time during the week of 24 January 2022 to prepare for this.
- Currently, QTU members will return from holidays as planned; ie members are expected to return to work in the week of the student free days (week commencing 17 January) - whether these are conducted remotely or in attendance at school will be subject to local decision
- from 24 January until 7 February members will be involved in scenario planning, preparation and supervision - i.e. members will be working

Stay tuned for further updates. PSHS staff, students and our community will get through this together.

We were incredibly lucky to have past student Dom O'Brien and current Shooter Producer for Australian Survivor Season 7 visit our Year 9 and 10 Media Studies students yesterday to share some insights into his job on set, and the workings of Australian Survivor and other Reality TV shows.
Dom then guided our students in professional filming techniques to film our very own Survivor Pittsworth. Some tough Year 9 students competed as contestants in an endurance challenge that was filmed and produced by the remaining Year 9 and 10 students in the workshop. Capturing every angle of shaky muscles, perspiration, and grimacing faces, Survivor Pittsworth students had a blast showing they could outwit, outlast, and outplay.
Please note: Homework Club has finished for the year. It has been great to see so many students attending these sessions each week!

Hungry after a long bus ride? 🙋‍♀️ We've got you!
Just love second breakfast? 🙋‍♂️ We've got you!

Breakfast club offers a healthy breakfast, which we know is important for school, but it's also great to start the day catching up with each other for a chat.

See you there 👌

The school was awash with costumes and colour today for 'Feel Good Friday' with the option to dress up as your hero/idol or to don odd/whacky socks as part of mental wellness week activities. Here are just a few of the costumes of choice.

PSHS was a hive of activity today as we recognised RU OK? Day during our Mental Wellness Week activities. An epic lip sync battle kept audiences entertained while they enjoyed a free sausage sizzle that was prepared by our Mental Wellness team.
Please remember to ask RU OK? A conversation can change a life.

Don't forget to dress up as your hero tomorrow... or wear some funky odd socks for the odd sock comp!
