📅 **Welcome to Week 2!**

We have another busy week ahead at PSPC, including our Junior Assembly, Choir, Year 6 Change Makers, P&C Meeting, Story Dogs, Fit Fun Friday and Active School Travel. Please check our Week 2 Diary Dates for all the details.

🪔 **The excitement is building for the fourth annual Diwali Festival of Lights!**

Following the school rehearsal on Friday 23 October, the festival will be held at Gainsborough State School on Saturday 24 October from 5.00–8.00 pm. This wonderful celebration will bring our communities together for an evening filled with culture, creativity, performances, food and festivities.

📚 We are also sharing the final instalment in our **Reading Life Hacks** series. Sharing books and stories with young children is a wonderful way to build their reading skills, confidence and language—while enjoying valuable time together.

We look forward to a terrific Week 2!

Our All Schools Touch Football teams have continued to train hard throughout the holidays as they prepare for their upcoming tournament!

Our sessions have focused on developing positive talk, sportsmanship, ball skills and teamwork, while refining positions and building confidence as a team and having plenty of fun along the way!

A huge thank you to Coach Kailen, Coach Jaimee and Mrs Kelly for sharing their skills, time and dedication with our players. We are so grateful for everything you are doing to help our teams prepare and grow. 🏉

We hope everyone has had a wonderful and refreshing holiday break! 🌿

A reminder that Monday 5 October is the King’s Birthday public holiday and the school will be closed. We look forward to welcoming our students back for Term 4 on Tuesday 6 October.

Please see our Week 1 Diary Dates for the events and activities happening across the first week. We have also shared our latest Reading Life Hack to help families continue building a love of reading at home. 📚

We are especially looking forward to the Diwali Celebration of Lights at Gainsborough State School on Saturday 24 October from 5.00–8.00 pm. It promises to be a wonderful evening celebrating culture, creativity and community. 🪔✨

Enjoy the remainder of the break, travel safely and we will see everyone on Tuesday!

📚 **Reading Life Hack 4: Let’s talk about feelings**

We hope everyone is enjoying a safe, relaxing and happy school holiday break.

The holidays may bring a few quiet opportunities to enjoy a story together. As you read, try pausing to ask how a character might be feeling. One simple question can open conversations about feelings, choices and kindness—and help children connect more deeply with the story.

Whatever your family is doing these holidays, we send our very best wishes. Enjoy the special moments together.

**Read together. Listen together. Enjoy together.**

🎤 WHO’S THAT MYSTERY SINGER?! 🎤

To celebrate the last day of school, we had a little fun during the final 15 minutes with a game over the loudspeaker “Who’s That Mystery Singer?” 🎶

The challenge? Be the 5th caller to correctly guess the mystery singer!

And the mystery singer was… 🥁 MRS SILVA! 🎤

Our first correct 5th caller was Mrs Raghavan, although Mrs Brown got a little too excited and forgot to ask for her name! 😂 Oops!

Our next winner was 1B! 🎉 Great job, Year 1!

We hope everyone had fun joining in and finishing the term with a little bit of excitement. Maybe we’ll have to bring back “Who’s That Mystery Singer?” next term! 👀🎶

Have a fun, relaxing and safe school holidays, PSPC community! 💛

🏕️ Year 6 Camp | Day 3! 💙

What an incredible adventure our Year 6 students have shared! From challenging activities to teamwork, courage, and plenty of memories, it’s been a camp to remember! 🙌

🚌 Our buses have just left camp at 1:00pm, with students expected to arrive back at school around 2:00 pm.

We ask parents and carers to please collect their children from their classroom teacher before 3:00 pm to help avoid the last-day-of-school traffic.

Thank you for your support, and well done, Year 6! 🌟
A huge thank you to our amazing staff for your organisation of another amazing camp for our students and your dedication giving up three days away from family to provide this experience.
