A big thank you to WAMS for coming to our school on Thursday to celebrate Naidoc with us. The students learnt the Aboriginal language for many of our Australian animals, painted boomerangs, designed canvas pictures and had a BBQ cooked for lunch.
Many gifts were given to our students in which they were very grateful for but just quietly I think their favourite was the fluffy cute emus.

Thanks for a great day

Sorry for the late post but you will see how busy our lttle school has been at the end of Term 2 ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wow, what a busy and rewarding week we have had at Pilliga Public School!

We began the week with a visit from our Police Youth Liaison Officers, who spoke with students about staying safe, making positive choices and contributing to their community. Students then proudly represented our school as part of the Voices of the Western Plains Choir, showcasing their talents and commitment.

We were also fortunate to welcome Healthy Harold, who worked with students on developing and navigating positive friendships, building important skills that support their wellbeing both at school and beyond.

We finished the week with our 2 Ways Athletics Carnival, a fantastic day filled with participation, encouragement and plenty of school spirit.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible staff, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to organise these opportunities and support our students every step of the way. Thank you also to our parents and families who came along to cheer on the students and help make these events so special.

A special thank you to Chris Jackson for bringing together the Combined Schools Choir. Your visible leadership, passion and dedication continue to inspire others to follow.

Most importantly, our students did us proud at every single event. They demonstrated exemplary behaviour, outstanding sportsmanship and represented our school with pride. Despite some very long and busy days, they continued to give their very best in true Pilliga style.

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them!

We are incredibly proud of Ryan and Ellie-May for demonstrating outstanding leadership in facilitating the development of our schoolโ€™s wicking bed gardens. Their hard work, dedication and commitment to the project have been recognised, with their video submission selected as the winning entry in the Young Leaders of the West initiative.

This achievement is a wonderful reflection of the commitment and dedication of the students to our beautiful school.

A big thank you to all the staff and students at Pilliga Public School who contributed their time, effort and enthusiasm to bring this project to life. We would also like to acknowledge and thank Bunnings for generously providing the materials that made this project possible.

Finally, thank you to Wes and his team for providing such a valuable opportunity for our students to develop their leadership skills, work together on a meaningful project and showcase what can be achieved through collaboration and determination.

Congratulations Ryan and Ellie-May! We are extremely proud of your achievement and canโ€™t wait to see our gardens continue to grow and thrive. Please take the time to watch their wonderful video submission above.
