So, this is me and my sister.
If you have followed me for a while you will know she is my rock, the reason I found weaving, and all around the most amazing person on the face of this planet.
Today she bravely took herself and her remaining life possessions (squeezed into two massive suitcases), to the other side of the world for an amazing career opportunity.
To say I am incredibly proud of her would be a massive understatement. She has always been a massive source of inspiration for me, and this new chapter for her just adds to the already super long list of her amazing achievements.
With all of this pride and joy for her, also comes a huge amount of sadness for both me and my kids. Our final goodbye at my doorstep yesterday afternoon was flooded with tears and ugly crying, and wasn’t helped by the fact that my husband was interstate for work.
I am really trying to be kind to myself, as this is going to be a huge adjustment. Even though I have the most supportive husband in the world, who is my safe space and biggest cheerleader in life, my sister has been a huge part of my recovery. Ever since my attempt she has put in so much work and effort to try and understand the inner workings of my brain - and I guess she had a bit of an advantage as she has the lived experience of all of my family stuff that has impacted my journey in motherhood.
So, even though I was super energized not that long ago to try and see if I could turn my flailing business around, this will be a bit of a speed bump in the whole “can I actually do this or should I just give up” dialogue constantly circling my mind. I also have lost access to my emails - IT is just not really me friend. So if you need to get in touch, socials is probably the best way. So for the ten or so people (who are pretty much friends and family anyway) that the big guys will show this to…just a huge thank you for reading and giving me a space to air these thoughts!
