Our Arthropodium milleflorum (Vanilla Lily) are preparing to get their blooms on display! Their delicate white flowers have the most exquisite aroma of vanilla that permeates the garden, I can’t wait for the opportunity to pair it with its cousin A. strictum (Chocolate Lily).

Known both as Coleus australis and Plectranthus parviflorus, Cockspur Flower belongs to the Mint family (Lamiaceae)! However, don’t be fooled by the family relation, as these are neither aromatic nor particularly tasty!
While having little culinary value, Coleus a. makes for an excellent plant to attract pollinators and frogs to wet, shady spots where other plants have difficulty growing.

Arthropodium strictum (Chocolate Lily) is well known for its incredibly fragrant flowers, whereupon having just one in your garden is enough to fill the area with its sweet aroma.
The swollen roots have a sweetness to them and can be eaten raw or roasted with salt.
Come see us in September at any of the markets we attend in the Central Coast to pick up some for your own space!
