Our Music Ensemble Evening was a wonderful celebration of our talented student musicians, bringing together five Riva ensembles in one hour and showcasing the extraordinary growth, confidence and musicianship developing across our school.
The evening began with our Junior Choir, Riva Ripples, who set the scene beautifully and showed just how far they have come as a young ensemble. They were followed by our Radiance String Orchestra, performing with wonderful skill and musicality, before our Riva Recorder Ensemble took the stage and proved just how impressive the humble recorder can sound in talented hands – Baby Shark!
Our Senior Choir, Riva Resonance, then delivered a stunning performance, demonstrating beautiful voices, harmony, discipline and stage presence, before the evening reached its finale with our Junior and Senior Choirs combining for a moving performance of I Am Australian - a wonderful way to bring our performers together and finish a very special night of music.
Across every ensemble, it was so pleasing to see and hear the development in our students’ technique, confidence, performance skills and presence. We were also treated to some outstanding individual performances from our talented soloists, who stepped into the spotlight with confidence and skill.
A huge congratulations to every one of our student musicians. Whether singing, playing strings, performing recorder, or taking on a solo, they performed with such pride and joy.
Finally, our enormous thanks and congratulations to Mrs Smith and Mrs Hayes. The quality of what we heard on stage reflects the extraordinary work that happens in our classroom Music programs, and those early morning rehearsals. Thanks also to our IMSS Strings Teachers, Jo Bell and Therese Arnold. Your passion and commitment continue to grow an outstanding Music program at Riva, creating more and more opportunities for our students to discover the joy of making music together.
