Today Chef Kelli completed an incursion in the Kindy room about the best foods and drinks for healthy teeth.

Kelli discussed with the children the importance of drinking water to rinse food off our teeth and strengthen our teeth with fluoride.

Kelli held up each item, asked the children to identify it, and then explored how each one helped their bodies.

The children then explored many of the foods we had discussed for afternoon tea, including drinking fruit tea and eating some healthy fruit.

Through this experience, the children are developing their interest in food, their knowledge of healthy eating, and their ability to explore foods in new ways.

Jeans for Genes Day!

Today, we raised awareness of Jeans for Genes Day by encouraging children and staff to wear jeans in support of this great cause.

Children participated in decorating jeans using a variety of media as they learned about sharing, turn-taking, and communication skills, and practised their fine motor skills while creating their shared masterpieces.

Across the Centre, children explored mark-making using paint, textas, and mixed media to decorate their jeans.
