🎨 COLOURS & FEELINGS IN OUR SENIOR TODDLER ROOM!

Yesterday, our Senior Toddlers extended on their learning about our varying emotions while incorporating their interest of painting!

The children had the opportunity to explore how different colours can represent different feeling with educators asking questions like, “What colour makes you feel happy?” “What colour makes you feel tired?” and “What colour makes you feel sad?”. With paintbrushes in hand and lots of colourful choices the children created their own unique masterpieces, choosing colours that they felt represented their emotion.

Through this fun and creative experience, our little learners were building on their emotional vocabulary, communication skills while gaining confidence in being able to express their feelings :)

From collecting food scraps after meals to adding them to our compost bin, our little environmental learners are discovering how food waste can be transformed into something valuable for our environment 🍎🥕🍌

🩵 Meet Miss Ashlin 🩵

We would like to introduce you to another new face to join our Happy Hearts family here at Reid Street, Miss Ashlin!

Miss Ashlin has experience in working with the kindergarten ages and will be working alongside Mr Nathan in the Pre-Kindy/Kindy room while studying her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education.

During her short time with us, we have already witnessed the strong connections she is building among the children and loves to get creative with face painting, which the children love!

🦎 Can you spot the 4 legged addition to our forest? 🌳

Our Pre-Kindy and Kindy children noticed him straight away and were instantly captivated by his beautiful & bright colours! They loved investigating the different textures and features of our new gecko. 💚

We are so fortunate to have such a large outdoor play environment that encourages children to explore their creativity, develop their gross motor skills, strengthen social interactions and most importantly, connect with nature 🌱

There is so much learning, curiosity and discovery happening when little minds are given the freedom to explore! ✨

This week we were so excited to welcome back our wonderful Mr. Nathan after three very special months on parental leave at home alongside his wife and their beautiful twin boys! 👶🏼👶🏼💙

We are absolutely thrilled to have Nathan back as part of our Happy Hearts team! He’ll be working across our Pre-Kindy and Kindy spaces and it’s safe to say the children were VERY excited to see their Mr. Nathan again! 🥰
