Run for A Reason and Australia's Biggest Morning Tea ðâ
It has been a big two weeks for service in our ISWA Community.
Last Sunday, 40 Swans took to the streets of Perth's CBD for the Annual HBF Run For A Reason as part of our ISWA Swans Team, running 3km, 10km and the half-marathon, raising money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. There were personal bests across the board from staff, students, and parents. ð―
Then, on Thursday, our wonderful Parent Association hosted their Annual Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, raising $3000 AUD for Cancer Council Western Australia, and putting warm smiles on our community's faces on a rainy day with a range of delicious baked goods. ðïļ
It takes all of us working together to tackle cancer. The spirit of charity is alive and well at ISWA. ðĶĒ

TWO DAYS LEFT ð
and since it's also a Tuesday, we're throw-backing (throwing it back?) to this time last year, with some our favourite photos from the ISWA Class of 2025's Graduation. These proud alumni have since spread across the world to further their education and on their continued global travels. ð
We'll have a whole new set of ISWA Alumni joining our Alumni Association after this Thursday!

Graduand, noun, 'one who is about to graduate'.
We have 35 graduands who will take to the stage later this week for the final stage of their ISWA Journey. Graduation for the ISWA Class of 2026. ðĶĒ
Here is their first class group photo from the first day of school waaaaay back in July of 2025.

Friday is year-level buddy day in Primary! ðĪ
Across our school, it's vital for us that our older students model excellent behaviour to their younger peers, and form the cross-year-level friendships that forge our tight-knit community. ð
Pictured here are our Year 5 and our Year 1 buddies collaborating to prepare our Village and Primary Quad Gardens for winter! Taking care of their local environment together, is there a better sight? ðą

Caring for our vulnerable native wildlife ðĶ
Recently, our campus has become home to a flight of rare Red-tailed Black Cockatoos, who have taken a liking to our tall red gum trees near our Year 6 classrooms. ðī
Their distinctive 'karaaak' call certainly caught the attention of one of our Year 6 PYP Exhibition Groups, who dedicated their final project to these magnificent indigenous birds. Their presentation was a superb demonstration of their learning and care for their local environment, as they raised awareness of the dangers that the Red-tail faces, as well as funds that they then donated to Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre.
Dr. Brokvam and our eco-minded Swans then visited the centre this week to meet the cheeky chirpers in person. These tangible, nature-inspired and local learning journeys for our students are of critical importance to us at ISWA. We are so proud of our Year 6 students for their initiative. ðĶĒ

Next Thursday â
It's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea! ðĄðĩ
Hosted annually by our wonderful Parent Association, this event is a great opportunity for our community to join together for a good cause, whilst enjoying a morning chat, tea and/or coffee, and some wonderful homemade delicacies.
Our parents have already raised nearly $1200 for Cancer Council Western Australia, all in aid of supporting people who have been impacted by this awful disease.
Scan the QR code to contribute (or click the link in the comments), and if you do so today, Dilmah will match and double your contribution! All funds go to support:
- Vital Cancer Research
- Prevention Programmes
- Support Services for Australians and families facing a cancer diagnosis.
Here are some photos from this lovely event two years ago.
We hope to see you there next Thursday morning!
