Here's to all the dads, guardians and father figures in our ISWA community, and beyond, this Father's Day! ๐Ÿฆข

On Friday, our Kindy cygnets were joined by their paternal figures for a wholesome morning of dad jokes and good times. Our students returned the favour, singing a welcoming song and painting custom coffee mugs for the World's Best Dads. โ˜•

Together, we also built paper aeroplanes and enjoyed some delicious food, but most importantly, spent time together playing and learning. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend, and Happy Father's Day to all!

Visiting Authors at ISWA inspiring our reading Swans! ๐Ÿฆข๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ

As part of our Book Week celebrations, we have been delighted to welcome two visiting authors to our campus, Brenton McKenna (Brenton ESZRA McKenna - Graphic Novelist ) and (Sean E Avery ).

Brenton is the first-ever published Indigenous graphic novel author in Australia, famous for his sense of humour, unique perspective and iconic drawing style, and delivered a wonderful workshop on storytelling and its many forms.

Sean is an award-winning author-illustrator from right here in Perth, and a celebrated public speaker and primary school arts teacher. His sessions left a mark on many of our students (as seen by how many penguins turned up to Costume Day!). ๐Ÿง

Thank you both for inspiring our growing learners and storytellers!

The joy of reading! ๐Ÿ“–

As part of our book week celebrations, we were joined by the talented graphic novel author .am.eszra, who popped in to share his fantastic work.

The older students played a part in reading McKennaโ€™s brilliant work to our younger students, showcasing the strong connections between our primary and secondary schools and that strong community of learners we're famous for at ISWA. ๐Ÿฆข

"The reason that I like the International Baccalaureate programme is the fact that it creates well-rounded people.

There is a large focus on education itself... but it focuses beyond that as well; it focuses on your place in the world. ๐ŸŒ

It is about where you could go. What you could achieve."

Hear from ISWA parent, Dr. Mascarenhas, as he discusses the worldly value of the IB, an international school education and how great it is to raise a child in Perth. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

Did someone say...back-to-back Associated & Catholic Colleges of WA Division Champions in Swimming and Athletics? ๐Ÿฅ‡

Congratulations to our Secondary Runners, Throwers & Jumpers for their absolutely phenomenal performances at today's Interschool Athletics Carnival.

We brought home three shields across the Junior and Senior Boys and Girls Categories, meaning...

YOUR ISWA SWANS ARE FIRST OVERALL AND CHAMPIONS OF OUR DIVISION. ๐Ÿ†

Well done to our superlative athletes; well done to our wonderful P.E department; the hard work is paying off; ISWA has now won two ACC carnivals in a row.

Onward we go!

Letters of Appreciation from Year 1 ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

Our Year 1 students are currently exploring their Unit of Inquiry, 'How We Organise Ourselves'. A central theme of this unit is learning about how responsible citizens are vital in creating and organising groups and societies.

We have a few of those responsible citizens on our campus, and our Year 1s showed their strength in inquiry by writing letters of thanks and interviewing them, asking such hard-hitting questions as:

- What's your favourite gardening tool?
- What makes you happiest at ISWA?
- How many photos do you take per year?
- Why did the chicken cross the road? x 8

There were a lot of smiles around campus that day. ๐Ÿฆข

Sunset Social 2026 ๐ŸŒ‡

It was a lovely evening on the shore at Scarborough as our parents, staff, and board of governors gathered for one of our favourite evenings of the year. ๐Ÿฆข

Thank you to our PA once again for hosting the event and creating such a stylish, wholesome & classy evening for our families, new and returning, to enjoy the spirit of our international community.

Thank you as well to the ISWA family-run Zoie Scarborough for their wonderful food and hospitality!

It takes a special kind of person to teach a class full of exciteable children from all across the world. It takes an even specialer person to do it whilst dressed like a penguin. ๐Ÿง

Our staff always bring the energy for Book Week Dress Up Day, and this time was no different.

Fun fact, our Year 11 & 12 English teacher, Mr. M, is a published author, and was literally everywhere last Friday. ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ

Book Week Dress Up Day At ISWA! ๐Ÿฆข

This morning was all about our fabulous Primary students' costumes and their favourite books.

There were about 27 dragons from the Wings of Fire Series and Minecraft, more Harry Potter characters than you can cast a spell at, superheroes, princesses, and homemade costumes made with love and care from our crafty parents! ๐Ÿ‰

What a wonderful day of reading appreciation at our international school. ๐ŸŒ
