This is definitely me this weekend 😂
Me signing up for extra overtime:
“Yeah the money will be worth it.” 💰
Me halfway through the shift:
Running on caffeine, regret, and pure survival mode ☕️😵💫
Will I do it again next week?
…probably. 👩⚕️

Not all heroes wear capes.
Some wear compression socks and forget to wee.
Behind the humour is compassion, courage and quiet strength.
You show up tired. You advocate fiercely. You care deeply.
That’s not just a job — that’s nursing. 🤍

I recently visited Bodyworld… and honestly? I had far too much fun.
There is something incredibly powerful about seeing preserved human bodies dissected and displayed in a way that allows you to truly appreciate the complexity of anatomy.
Muscle fibres layered so precisely.
The structure of the hip joint in full view.
The articulation of the femoral head sitting perfectly in the acetabulum.
Tendons, ligaments, cartilage — all right there in front of you.
You can study anatomy in textbooks for years… but standing face to face with it preserved like that? It hits differently.
I may have spent an embarrassing amount of time staring at joints and bones. The hip section? Elite. The spinal column? Beautifully engineered.
Definitely an ortho nurse to my core.
It reminded me why anatomy matters so much in practice. Every mobilisation. Every fracture. Every joint replacement. Every neurovascular check. It all comes back to understanding the structure beneath the skin.
We work with living, moving anatomy every single shift — and seeing it laid bare like that was equal parts fascinating and humbling.
The human body is extraordinary.
And I’ll never not be in awe of it.

✨ Watching students grow is honestly the best part of what I do.
I’ve had the absolute privilege of mentoring Dipika throughout her nursing studies and supporting her through the graduate application process over the past two years. Seeing her confidence grow, her clinical thinking strengthen, and her belief in herself develop has been so special.
No question is ever “silly” in nursing — that’s how we learn, grow and become safe, reflective practitioners. Dipika showed up, asked the questions, did the work, and backed herself.
I’m so incredibly proud of you, Dipika. Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you in this season. The profession is lucky to have you 🤍

Today I walked through the Titanic: The Human Story exhibition… and I found myself standing still in front of the nurses.
Violet Jessop in her Red Cross uniform.
The images of medical inspections on Ellis Island.
The old stethoscope. The tongue depressors. The eye hooks.
And I just felt… incredibly humbled.
Over 100 years ago, nurses were caring for patients with tools that look almost unrecognisable to us now. No antibiotics. No advanced monitoring. No evidence-based guidelines. No electronic documentation. No PPE as we know it.
Yet what they did have was courage.
Compassion.
Clinical judgement.
And an unwavering commitment to care.
Looking at those photos, I couldn’t help but reflect on how much our practice has evolved — technologically, scientifically, professionally. We now work with sophisticated equipment, research-backed interventions and regulated standards of practice.
But at its core? Nursing is still nursing.
It is still human connection in moments of vulnerability.
It is still advocacy.
It is still standing beside someone in uncertainty.
Walking through that exhibition reminded me how privileged we are to practise in this era — and how important it is to honour the foundations laid by those who came before us.
A century of progress… and yet the heart of nursing remains the same.
✨ 2026 is already in full swing ✨
Here’s a bit of an update on where we’re at with collaborations for the Holistic Huddle app and the summit. I’m currently working to build this alongside mentoring nurses, supporting graduate program applications, helping students commit to uni, lecturing — and balancing it all with family life.
I may have cut the end of the video a little short (sorry 😅), but this is just the beginning.
If you’re a nursing student, graduate, enrolled nurse or experienced nurse needing guidance or support, I’m here.
📩 DM me on my socials for more information about the app, mentoring or graduate support.
Please feel free to share my page with anyone who may benefit — nursing is a community, and we’re stronger when we lift each other up 🤍

🚨 Clinical Prioritisation Challenge
Alright nurses & students… let’s test your thinking 👀
You have four patients.
Only one can be seen first.
Who are you prioritising — A, B, C or D?
But here’s the real question…
🧠 Tell me WHY.
Not just your answer.
I want your rationale.
• What cues stood out?
• What worried you most?
• What framework did you use — ABCDE? Clinical judgement? Trend in obs?
Prioritisation isn’t about who is loudest.
It’s about who is most at risk of deteriorating.
Drop your answer below 👇
Let’s see how you’re thinking.

POV: You thought nursing school would just be “a bit of study”…
But it’s actually:
• Anatomy at 10pm
• Placement at 6am
• Assignments due “yesterday”
• Group work chaos
• Surviving on caffeine and sheer willpower
Being a student nurse means juggling textbooks, shifts, life, family, finances and your own wellbeing — all at once.
It’s overwhelming.
It’s exhausting.
But it’s building you into something incredible.
To every student nurse feeling stretched right now…
You’ve got this. 💙

💬 Kylie’s Words
“Last prac has been done, pre-registration and ID check done, grad programme applied for. Thank you for your support over the last 2.5 years — it has meant the world to me.”
Over the past 2.5 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting Kylie not just through assessments and clinical placements, but through the personal and professional ups and downs that come with becoming a nurse.
Nursing school is rarely a straight line. There were moments of doubt, growth, resilience and reflection — and she showed up every single time.
Now she has:
✔️ Completed her final clinical placement
✔️ Finalised pre-registration
✔️ Completed ID checks
✔️ Applied for her graduate programme
Watching students grow into confident, capable future nurses is the greatest reward.
Kylie — I am so incredibly proud of you. The profession is lucky to have you 💙
