🎉 Big news for LeadAbility!

We are thrilled to share that the Hon. Hannah Beazley MLA, Minister for Disability Services, has officially announced continued annual funding of $230,000 for our LeadAbility Course through to 2029.

Since 2014, LeadAbility has supported 339 graduates across 24 cohorts, helping to strengthen inclusive leadership throughout Western Australia.

Our sincere thank you to the Cook Government, Minister Beazley and the Department of Communities team for their ongoing support of LeadAbility.

Last week, our Rising cohort came together for Experience 3, exploring the role the mind plays in how we lead ourselves.

Hosted at Arup, the day created space for reflection on self-awareness and mental wellbeing, including a guided mindfulness session.

Our thanks to Tasha Broomhall for her engaging session on psychological health and safety, and to Adam Dux, Bronwyn Miller, and the Arup team for contributing to such an insightful experience.

Beyond the runway, leadership looks different ✈️

At Leadership WA, our Participants don’t just learn about leadership. They experience it firsthand.

At Experience 4 (Theme: WA Our State), we were pleased to once again bring our 2026 Signature Leadership Program cohort to Perth Airport, where leadership plays out in real time.

It was a day that shifted perspective and continues to shape how our cohort lead and show up.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day.

Authentic leadership means leading with empathy, respect and care, and recognising the strengths in every individual across our community. 🩵

This week, many of us were moved by the story of 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗲, the 13-year-old who showed extraordinary courage when he swam through open sea to get help for his family.

What stayed with us most wasn’t just the physical challenge, but what he chose to focus on to keep going: his family and friends, the people who mattered most to him. 🤍

Courageous leadership is rarely a solo act.
It’s shaped by mindset and strengthened by the connections and support systems that remind us who we are doing this for.

In moments of pressure, that kind of focus is a powerful act of self-leadership.
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱, 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏻
