Whisking in to Retirement!
Today we said goodbye to the very special Cookie, our incredible Kitchen Supervisor as she begins her well-deserved retirement.
For over 30 years, she has been the heart and soul of our centre, preparing meals for 104 children every single day — an extraordinary achievement that reflects her unwavering dedication, care, and love. She hasn’t just done her job — she has nurtured generations of children and created a warm, welcoming environment for all.
Known for her cheeky sense of humour and love of a good practical joke, she has filled our days with laughter and joy. But beyond that, she has always been someone people could count on — a true giver, always ready to support others and lend a helping hand.
She has left a remarkable legacy, and our service will always be in her debt for everything she has given over the years.
In true style, we don’t let people leave without a big send-off — and hers was no exception. The day was filled with love, laughter, plenty of practical jokes, beautiful decorations throughout the foyer, and a special morning tea to celebrate everything she means to us.
We will all miss you so much, Cookie — the centre won’t be the same without you. Please don’t be a stranger… pop in anytime for a cuppa.
While it’s hard to say goodbye, we are so excited for her as she heads off to travel, relax, and enjoy everything life has to offer.
Thank you for everything — your impact will live on in our hearts and in our service forever.

Today we shone the light on St David’s Day, exploring Welsh culture, traditions and identity with the children in a meaningful and engaging way.
Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, reminds us of the importance of kindness, perseverance and doing the “little things” well — values that resonate within our Service.
From a learning perspective, cultural celebrations like St David’s Day support children’s sense of belonging and help them appreciate the rich cultures within our community.
A very special mention goes to our wonderful Cookie — our longest-standing team member, who proudly shares her Welsh heritage with us every year.
True to tradition, she lovingly makes her delicious Welsh cakes for the children and staff each year, sharing a special part of her Welsh heritage with us all. Although Cookie is on holiday this week, she has promised that as soon as she returns next week, she’ll be baking a fresh batch so we can all enjoy her delicious cakes.
It’s moments like these that create lasting memories and bring learning to life in the most meaningful (and tasty!) way.

It’s that time of year again, when we all set our alarms for 4:00am for our PECCC traditional Christmas breakfast! 🎄🎄🎄
Although the early morning start means arriving bright and early to prepare the food and set up the tables, it’s always worth it. Moments like these truly bring our team together and remind us what a remarkable place PECCC is to work.
We would also like to take this opportunity to say a BIG thank you and congratulations to Emma-Lee, Laura, Salina and Tracey H, who celebrated 10 years of service with us this year. They have all played an integral role in making our centre such a special place, and we thank them for their passion and dedication over the past decade.
We would also like to extend a BIG thank you and congratulations to Diana and Sanja, who celebrated 5 years of service with us this year. Both are truly valued members of our PECCC family, and we are so grateful for their continued commitment and contribution.

National Nutrition Week 🍎🥝🌽🍓🥦
13th - 19th October 2025
Here at PECCC, healthy food is not an afterthought; it drives our daily menu. Diana and Sharene (our wonderful in house cooks) always provide nutritious and fun meals following the Australian Dietary Guidelines for children.
Each year National Nutrition Week raises awareness of the role of food in our health and wellbeing, and supports the community to enjoy healthy eating.
This years Nutrition Week campaign message is ‘Connected and Nourished’ with the intention to celebrate the many ways that people, families, communities and organisations across the country can be connected and nourished through food.
It is also a great reminder for all of us to model and encourage balanced, enjoyable eating — both at the service and at home
We hope you enjoyed taste testing the yummy nibbles each afternoon and took a recipe for some at home cooking fun in the kitchen.

CPR September
At our centre, safety is always a priority. Our educators complete full first aid training every three years, with CPR refreshed annually to keep skills sharp and up to date.
This is where CPR September comes in!
Each September our educators refresh their CPR training to ensure our team is confident and prepared to respond in any emergency, giving families peace of mind and children the safest environment to learn and grow.

Early childhood educator appreciation day 2025
Today we celebrated the heart of our centre – our amazing educators. 💛
Every day, they create safe, nurturing and inspiring spaces where children can learn, grow, and thrive, playing an incredible role in shaping bright futures.
To our wonderful team: thank you for your patience, your creativity, your dedication each and every day. You truly make a difference, not just today, but every single day.
Thank you to our wonderful families who joined us in celebrating and thanking our educators - your kind words make them feel valued, seen, and appreciated.
We would also like to say a big thank you to Clare and Tash from Creative Party Flair who set up a beautiful boho picnic in the sunshine for our team to enjoy during their lunch break.

Book Week has come to end for 2025 and what a fun week that was!
Our sheep got up to all sorts of shenanigans which is what made the week so magical.
We would like to thank you all for enjoying Book Week as much as we do.

We're thrilled to kick off Book Week for 2025!
A celebration of imagination, storytelling, and the power of reading. This week marks the beginning of an adventure through words, where children, parents, educators and the entire PECCC community come together to explore new worlds, discover inspiring characters, and ignite a lifelong love of books.
Hearing the wonderful ‘Wow’s’ from your little people and the heart-warming comments from many of you is the reason why our educators put their heart and soul in to planning and preparing for centre celebrations such as Book Week and often give up their own time to create and set up these wonderful displays. We must make a special mention to our ever so creative and crafty Tracey O-J who made our wonderful sheep for this years display.
This years Book Week theme is ‘Book an Adventure’ and boy do we have an adventure for you all! Where is the Green Sheep? By Mem Fox and Judy Horacek is a children’s classic and a favourite here at PECCC.
Each day you will find our sheep up to all sorts of antics which we have no doubt will create the sense of magic that is book week. Make sure you keep a look out for that Green sheep who will no doubt be fast asleep…..but where?
