See pictures of beaut dolls made by Joan and students. Let me know if you would like to learn this relaxing art. Been doing this for many years now.

I love teaching the art of porcelain dollmaking to enthusiastic students. The sewing machine is permanently set up and I'm thinking of outfit ideas. We concentrate mainly on modern dolls that the ladies seem to prefer, do the occasional reproduction. We have in the past had seminars aimed specifically at making hats, thoroughly enjoyed by all who came. My aim is to teach as much as possible including painted eyes, wigmaking etc. Beware - this is a hobby that can easily become an obsession!!

We have been busy working on our project dolls, for which we chose Nicole by Dianna Effner. I have been also working with several 10" girls and have made some duffel coats for them for the cold weather.

Busy while confined to the house with a spinal injury. These are some recent dolls and outfits. Megan the BJD was restrung, rewigged and redressed and I am very pleased with her. I enjoy giving the girls occasional makeovers.

Keeping busy and 2026 classes are going well. We are each working on our own little dolls while also having our Nicole project doll at just $15.00 for greenware and firing. Opportunity to learn how to make a little wig from eucalyptus fibre for just a few dollars. Let me know if you would like to express your creativity with us. No prior experience needed, just patience.

We are well into 2026 and this year's project doll is under way. She is Nicole (or Madeline) by Dianna Effner and will have painted eyes and handmade wig using eucalyptus fibre - lots of colour choices. This is Gloria modelling the first stage.

Looking forward to our "dolly do" on the 17th where we will have our traditional gift exchange which is always lovely. For those who would like to participate, simply bring a gift to receive a gift. Slight change to this year’s gift exchange – please bring along a gift that you would like to receive yourself. If somebody receives a gift that they really can’t use (for example, a gift ideal for dollhouse dolls when they only make 12” or larger), then they will be able to hand this gift to the person who brought it along and receive that person’s new gift in exchange.

Our theme for project doll was originally "circus" for this year; however our Brittany project was much more successful. This coming year, 2023, we are again doing a class doll where the doll will be made, wigged and dressed during the year in class so that, once again, each student is able to take home a complete doll. Our doll for 2023 will be the 16" all porcelain modern body with either Amber, Blossom, Cherry or Little Aruna head. Will work out which clothing pattern to go with and once again pick out a suitable hat that can be made to finish off her outfit. Will update as we go along. I would like to once again thank my lovely dolly ladies for a very pleasing and productive year.

What a busy year we have had. Very proud of class achievement where a project doll was selected
Those who elected to participate all made Brittany and made the clothes (to the same basic pattern) during class. So proud of everyone!

Well, we had a lovely first class back after the Christmas break and lots of discussion about our project for this year, which is CIRCUS. I have put together a list of various occupations within a circus that I hope will help anyone who hasn't quite decided what to make. More information as we go along.................

About 25 years ago I made a Shirley Temple 24" doll. Today she finally got an outfit!

Been a long time since I posted anything. We have had an amazing year, lots of dolly stuff happening as usual. Branching out into ceramic work as well for this coming year. Our project has been chosen and this coming year the theme is CIRCUS. Looking forward to seeing the production line. Hope everyone has a good Christmas and maybe a better year than we've had lately. Thank you to all my amazing ladies # # #
