Staff Spotlight! 🌟 Meet Hannah, one of our amazing QUOKKA Team members!

Hannah manages our Murdoch Admin, supports students as part of our EQ Team, and leads our career expos and VET Coordinator partnerships. She brings fun, energy, and welcoming vibes to everything she does—making sure everyone feels at home the moment they walk through the door.

When she's not spreading good energy at HSH, you'll find Hannah playing double bass in her band, singing, dancing, or spending quality time with her furry and feathered friends: Stella, Stanley, and Chippy. She's all about creating warm, inclusive spaces wherever she is.

We're so grateful to have Hannah on the team! 💙

🧼 Infection Control Practical Assessments – A Day of Hands-On Learning! ✨

Our students spent the day putting their infection control knowledge into practice with real-world assessment stations. Hand washing, wound care, donning and doffing PPE, and surface cleaning—these are the skills that matter in healthcare.

And the results? Fantastic! Everyone who attempted the stations passed. 💪 That's the power of practical, supportive learning where students get hands-on experience and real feedback.

After their successful assessments, students completed overdue assignments and consolidated their learning. This is what we're all about at Health Science Hub—building confident, competent future healthcare professionals.

🦘 Up close and personal with wildlife!

Our Cert III Animal Care Services students recently visited Bunbury Wildlife Park and had an amazing time getting hands-on with all kinds of animals. From feeding colourful parrots to meeting kangaroos and exploring the beautiful grounds, it was the perfect day to see animal care in action.

These are the moments that make learning real. Seeing our students connect with the animals, understand their behaviours, and learn proper handling techniques—that's what hands-on education looks like. 🦜🦘

Big thanks to the team at Bunbury Wildlife Park for making it such a special day! Our students are inspired and ready to take their animal care skills to the next level.

🚑 Congrats to our Cert IV in Health Care students!

This weekend, our students completed their pre-volunteer workshop with Perth Medical Volunteers and absolutely crushed it! 🎉

PMV put them through various scenarios and tests, and our HSH students performed amazingly. From first aid to emergency response, they showed exactly what hands-on training and dedication looks like.

Now they're ready to put their medic skills to work in the community. Keep an eye out for them at sporting events, festivals, markets and more—they'll be out there making a real difference!

We're so proud of you all. This is what it looks like when passion meets preparation. 💪

A Huge Thank You to Kanyana Wildlife Park! 🦅🦉

Our Cert III Animal Care Services students had an absolutely incredible day at Kanyana Wildlife Park, and we're so grateful for the amazing experience they got to have.

From getting up close with birds of prey to learning about native wildlife care, our students saw firsthand what it takes to work with animals in real-world settings. The team at Kanyana were fantastic—sharing their knowledge, letting students interact with the creatures, and showing them the passion that goes into wildlife education and conservation.

These are the moments that make learning come alive. Seeing a student's face light up when they hold a barn owl or learn about an animal's behaviour—that's what it's all about. Big thanks to everyone at Kanyana for making this day so special and for inspiring our next generation of animal care professionals! 🙌

Birds of Prey & Wonder at Cape Raptor Centre 🦅✨

Last week, our Cert II Animal Care students in Bunbury took a trip to the Cape Raptor Centre in Margaret River—and it was absolutely incredible. From the moment they walked in, they were captivated by some seriously impressive creatures.

Anne Marie from the Centre gave students a detailed rundown of the three bird species on display, and the 11am show was both fun and educational. Our students came prepared too, having already learned some facts beforehand, so they were asking great questions and really engaged with what they were seeing.

After the show, students had time to explore the grounds on their own and meet the birds up close. The weather turned pretty chilly, so most ended up staying cozy in the welcome building and gift shop—but honestly, that's part of the adventure! Whether they were watching the raptors soar or chatting with the team, every student left with a deeper appreciation for these amazing birds and what it takes to care for them.

This is hands-on learning at its best. 🦉
