What a wonderful Book Week we had at Nido Iluka! 📚

It was a beautiful week filled with stories, imagination, creativity and lots of smiles. We loved seeing the children celebrate their favourite books and characters and share in the magic that comes from a great story.

A very special thank you to all of our wonderful children and staff who dressed up and joined in the celebrations. Your fantastic costumes and excitement made Book Week extra special!

What a wonderful week of exploring, experimenting and discovering! 🌱🧪

This year’s National Science Week theme was “Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All”, and all of our classrooms got involved with fun, hands-on science experiences.

It was amazing to see the children’s curiosity, excitement and wonder as they made predictions, explored new ideas and discovered how things work!

🧸🌳 Teddy Bear Picnic Adventure! 🌳🧸

on Wednesday, Classroom 4 children had a wonderful time heading to the local park for a very special Teddy Bear Picnic! Along the way, they enjoyed exploring their community, spotting a trampoline, a friendly cat, and lots of beautiful flowers.

Once at the park, the children proudly introduced their teddy bears to their friends, sharing their names, favourite foods, and even what their teddies would like for tea! It was a beautiful morning filled with imaginative play, meaningful conversations, laughter, and fun games with their cuddly companions.

Experiences like these encourage children's confidence, creativity, communication, and friendships while enjoying the great outdoors. 💚

Today, the children from Classroom 5 enjoyed an exciting excursion to our local park to become little bug explorers!

Armed with magnifying glasses and plenty of curiosity, they investigated the gardens, bushes, and grassy areas in search of bugs and other minibeasts. Using sticks to gently dig through the soil and leaf litter, they were excited to discover a few slaters, other tiny minibeasts, and some snails hiding in their natural habitats.

As part of our excursion, we also practised walking safely as a group and reinforced important road safety skills while travelling to and from the park.

It was a wonderful day of outdoor learning, exploration, and discovery. The children showed great curiosity, teamwork, and respect for nature, making it a fun and memorable experience for everyone! 🐌🐜🌱

A huge thank you to our wonderful educator, Vera from Classroom 2, for lovingly handcrafting this beautiful collection of puppets for the children.

Using techniques including wet felting, knitting, and sewing, Vera has created an amazing range of puppets that have brought so much joy to our mat sessions. The children loved singing nursery rhymes, exploring the different textures, and using their imaginations as the puppets came to life.

We are so grateful for Vera's creativity, dedication, and generosity. She continues to inspire us all by sharing her time, talent, and passion to create meaningful learning experiences for our children. Thank you, Vera! 🥰✨

Today at Nido Iluka, we had a very special First Responder Day incursion 🚒🚓

We were so excited to have both the police and a firefighter join us today, giving the children a wonderful hands-on learning experience.

One of our children’s dads joined us to share his role as a firefighter. He showed the children his firefighting equipment, explained how it all works, and answered lots of curious questions from the children. Some of our staff even had the chance to try on the firefighter outfit, which was such a fun experience for everyone!

We also had a visit from officers from Perth Police Station, who showed us their police car and all the important tools they use in their work. Each child received a special sticker, which was a big highlight of the day!

To finish off our celebration, we were treated to an amazing fire demonstration from our firefighter, making it such an exciting and memorable experience for everyone.

A big thank you to our incredible first responders for taking the time to be part of our incursion and for everything you do to keep our community safe. We are so grateful

Today was such a special day at Nido Iluka 🦋

Classroom 1 and 2 headed out on an excursion to our local park, where we released our 5 beautiful butterflies. One by one, the children watched in awe as they gently set them free and saw them take flight into the world. It was such a magical moment watching them flutter away.

Over the past few weeks, it has been so incredible to observe their journey, from tiny caterpillars to stunning butterflies. Watching the life cycle unfold right before our eyes has been such a meaningful and exciting experience for the children.

It has also been so wonderful to see the children come in each morning full of excitement, eager to check on the next stage and see how much the butterflies had changed. Their curiosity and enthusiasm have made this experience even more special.

Yesterday, we even had the opportunity to watch one of the butterflies emerge from its cocoon, which was such an amazing and memorable experience for everyone.

Before heading off on our excursion this morning, all of the other rooms had a chance to say goodbye to the butterflies, making it a special moment shared across the whole centre.

Moments like these create lasting memories and a true appreciation for nature 💛

65 Roses Day 🌹
Today at Nido Early School we came together to celebrate 65 Roses Day in support of Cystic Fibrosis, and what a beautiful day it was for our very special girl, Felicity. ❤️

We are so incredibly grateful for the wonderful support from our families and community who purchased roses throughout the morning to help raise awareness and funds for this important cause. Your kindness and generosity mean so much to families living with Cystic Fibrosis, including Felicity’s family who have been part of our Nido Iluka family since 2021.

It was truly heartwarming to see everyone come together to celebrate such a meaningful cause, and we could not have asked for a better turnout🌹

Last night we hosted a wonderful Kinder evening with our Kinder families at Nido Iluka 💛

It was so special coming together to talk all things Kindergarten and share more about our Nido Kindergarten curriculum, and the learning experiences we offer each day through our play-based approach.

We also explored the different options for families, including completing Kindergarten here at Nido or transitioning to a school setting, helping families feel informed and confident in their choices.

Families enjoyed tea and coffee while sampling some of the delicious afternoon tea snacks our children are offered each day, all lovingly prepared by our chef.

Yesterday morning was incredibly special for all of us at Nido Early School Iluka 💛

We came together for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in honour of our beautiful chef, Anne, who means so much to our children, families, and team. It was a morning filled with love, community, and support.

A huge thank you to our staff, families, and wider Nido community for the delicious treats made with so much care. A special mention to our Classroom 5 children for their beautiful cupcakes we are so proud of you.

So far, we have raised over $1900 for the Cancer Council, thank you to everyone who has donated and supported this important cause.

Anne, it was so special to have you with us. We are all thinking of you and sending so much love 💛
