ABOUT US:

Montessori Early Childhood Centre caters for children from 6 weeks to 6 years. We combine the philosophies and teaching Methods of Maria Montessori alongside the Early Years Learning Frame Work and National quality standards. Our aim is to provide the highest quality of care while giving the children the opportunity to develop necessary skills and independence to prepare them for life.

We include many opportunities for children to explore and learn. Each room follows the Montessori curriculum and have access to their own outdoor area which includes sandpits, vegetable gardens and many opportunities for gross motor movement. We also provide a separate outdoor Nature environment where the children take responsibility for tending to animals; this area is made from pure sustainable resources which promotes obstacles and accomplishment, while creating play spaces where children engage in social and physical activity of free play choices. The Children are exposed to a variety of materials for sensory learning and experiences. The child uses all five senses - touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing - to understand and absorb information about his /her environment. Dr. Montessori also recognized that during the first six years of life, children experience a series of "sensitive periods". We take advantage of these “sensitive periods” by helping the children refine their senses and assisting them in perfecting these natural learning tools. Montessori Early Childhood Centre educators provide experiences that are appropriate for each child’s interests and learning abilities that provide opportunities of continuous extension of learning. At Montessori Early Childhood Centre the children settles in very quickly into the new environment, as our Educators work hand in hand with families to allow a smooth transition with the love and care of our educators.

What an exciting week of discovery, curiosity and learning! Our children explored a range of fun, hands on experiments that encouraged them to ask questions, make predictions, observe changes and discover how things work. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they explored science through play and real life experiences!
