Today marks the celebration of Early Childhood Day 2025, a national endeavor aimed at recognising and appreciating the tireless efforts of Australia's early childhood educators across long day care, family day care, kindergarten/preschool, and occasional care.

My role as an Early Childhood Educator is not just a profession, but a vocation that I am deeply passionate about. Having embarked on this journey at 18 and now nearing 53, I am humbled to have been instrumental in laying the foundation for early years education for numerous children in my care, both in Family Day Care and school settings.

We as Educators must stand together and support each other through the good and bad times.

Yesterday saw the arrival and installation of our new cubby house, expertly handled by Troy from For Your Backyard. The Mansion model provides more than adequate space for all my little ones to play together, with room to spare. I am excited to see their faces light up with excitement and imagination as they make the most of their new play space.

A lovely surprise arrived in the post box yesterday! Thank you again to all my families for my nominations and support for the Excellence in FDC Awards 2025.

The Regional winner for this award will be announced on 2nd September 2025.

Our miniature world showcases animal figures within a cold habitat, encouraging comprehensive identification, naming, and linguistic growth through creative and imaginative play.

Note: The educator is aware that polar bears, walrus, beluga whale and seals are Arctic animals. The penguins and humpback whale are Antartica animals. However, the children are just learning that these animals live in cold habitats.

The children are creating a background frieze for our artwork by integrating various blue paint tones with white to form an ocean landscape, utilizing a range of medium tools to craft unique marks and textures on the paper.
