Fantastic outcome! Weโre honoured to support this study.
๐ The BEE pain free study is creating a real buzz๐
At the recent Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Awards 2022, the BEE pain free study won the runner-up award in the Consumer Involvement category. Our Anaesthesia team has been trialling whether WA honey can play a role in reducing pain for our patients after surgery to remove their tonsils.
The trial is now complete, with over 400 children at PCH, South Metropolitan Health Service's Fiona Stanley Hospital and St John of God Subiaco Hospital taking part. Early feedback has been positive, with honey potentially becoming a part of the pain management toolkit post-tonsillectomy. Stay tuned as we report the full results of this fascinating trial very soon.
Our thanks to HealthyWA and Cooperative Research Centre for Honey Bee Products for funding this project trial and our research partners Telethon Kids Institute and UWA Research.

B-QUAL Australia Pty Limited has been established by the Australian Honey Bee Industry Council (AHBIC) as an independently developed and audited food safety program.
B-QUAL aims to ensure that 90% of honey produced in Australia is quality assured for both the domestic and export markets.
Judgement of a honey product is largely based on the information supplied by the label on the jar. The connection of the label to the honey within the jar is the work of traceability and chemistry, but what happens when the label is tampered with and the two do not align?
This workshop will guide you through simple techniques to identify your risk, learn about the ways you can protect your label and create a solution for customer trust in your brand.
Held online in two three-hour sessions, on Thursday and Friday, this workshop will enable you to work with the tools provided to reach your solutions.
This workshop by the Cooperative Research Centre for Honey Bee Products is for all Australian beekeepers packing their honey, or packers packing beekeeper honey.
Please register for both days for the complete workshop.
DATE: Thursday 7th and Friday 8th July 2022
