🌈✨ What an AMAZING two weeks we’ve had at Little Rascals Vacation Care! ✨🌈

From paint, bubbles, and laughter to animals, feathers, and farm fun — it’s been non-stop excitement! 😍

Over the past two weeks, we’ve had so many awesome incursions and adventures:
🎨 Messy Play Day – where things got a little (okay, very) messy and a whole lot of fun!
💦 Colour Run – bright colours, happy faces, and giggles everywhere!
🐠 Under the Sea Discovery – exploring ocean life and all its wonders.
🚜 Farmer Mick – who brought the farm fun to us with his friendly animals.
🚑 Ambulance Adventure Day – a real ambulance came to Little Rascals! The children got to meet paramedics, explore inside, and learn all about how they help people.
🦅 Wild Wings – we got up close with incredible birds like owls and eagles (so cool!).
🐍 Wildlife Adventure – finishing the holidays surrounded by amazing creatures, scaly and furry alike!

It’s safe to say — there was never a dull moment! 💫

A massive THANK YOU to our incredible educators — Shanae, Dana, and Sarah — who worked tirelessly to make every day full of fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. 💛

✨🌟 Vacation Care Day 1 – Neon Glow Disco! 🌟✨

Yesterday our Schoolie room was completely transformed into a glowing disco wonderland by Miss Shanae, Miss Ella, and Miss Sarah and what an incredible start to Vacation Care it was! 🪩🎉

💡 The children lit up the room with glow sticks, balloons, streamers and of course the magical disco ball sparkling across the walls. The energy was high, the smiles were big, and the fun was non-stop!

🎶 On the dance floor, there was singing, grooving and endless laughter with games like Musical Statues and Bop Till You Drop – the music was pumping and the atmosphere was electric!

🌈 After some outdoor adventures, the fun continued indoors with the ultimate Hairdressing Salon led by Miss Shanae. From crazy styles to funky creations, the children loved letting their creativity shine.

It was a day filled with colour, movement, and glowing smiles – and what a bright way to kick off the holidays! 💃🕺✨

A friendly reminder that Little Rascals Childcare will be closed on Monday, 29th September for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

We hope all our children and families enjoy a safe, sunny, and happy long weekend together! 🌞💛

🌟 Messy Play = Meaningful Learning 🌟

What an amazing perspective this is- even though we try our absolute best to send our smallest friends home mess free… sometimes the mess tells a bigger story! 💛

At Little Rascals, every mark, stain, or smudge is part of important learning and development. Through messy play, children are:
✨ Building fine motor skills as they scoop, pour, and mix.
✨ Exploring textures, colours, and cause-and-effect.
✨ Developing creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills.
✨ Strengthening confidence by experimenting and trying new things.

While their jumpers might carry home a little paint, flour, or dirt – they’re also carrying home new skills, new knowledge, and big smiles 🌈

Messy play is more than just fun… it’s learning in action! 💕

💙 Father’s Day Afternoon Tea at Little Rascals 💙

On Friday, we were so excited to welcome the special men in our children’s lives to celebrate Father’s Day with an afternoon tea. 💫

The children loved spending time with their dads, grandads, uncles and other important role models while enjoying a range of fun activities – from play dough and colouring-in, to decorating cookies (and sneaking a few bites too! 🍪).

It was such a beautiful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter and quality time together. 💙

A big thank you to all the families who joined us – we loved celebrating you!

💛 R U OK? Day at Little Rascals 💛

Today at Little Rascals we joined together to recognise the importance of checking in with others and talking about our feelings for R U OK? Day.

Our children embraced the theme of yellow and emotions through fun, hands-on experiences:
✨ Nursery explored with bright yellow playdough, enjoyed a water play experience, and even helped their educators wash the chairs as part of learning about respect and responsibility in our program.
🎨 Toddler 1 got creative painting different emotions on paper plates.
🧁 Our Kindy children baked delicious yellow cupcakes to share.

Through these activities, we helped our little ones learn that it’s okay to talk about our feelings, to ask questions, and to show kindness and care towards others.

Let’s all remember to take a moment to ask the people around us “R U OK?” everyday and not just today💛

💛 R U OK? Day 2025 💛

Today is a reminder to check in with the people around us- family, friends, colleagues, and our community. Sometimes a simple “R U OK?” can make all the difference. 💬✨

At Little Rascals, we believe in looking after not only the little ones in our care, but also each other as parents, educators, and friends. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and reaching out shows kindness, compassion, and strength.

So today (and every day), take a moment to:
🌼 Ask someone, “R U OK?”
🌼 Really listen to their answer
🌼 Offer support if they need it

You never know the impact a small conversation can have. 💕

❤️👃 Red Nose Day at Little Rascals – Thursday 28th August 👃❤️

On Thursday we proudly supported Red Nose Day, an important day that raises awareness and funds to help prevent little lives being lost and to support families affected by the sudden loss of a child. 💞

The children joined in with lots of fun red nose themed activities, exploring, creating and learning about the importance of helping others. Our educators even painted their noses red along with the children’s using face paint, which brought so much joy and laughter throughout the day! 🎨😊

The centre was a sea of red, with so many children proudly wearing their bright red clothes to show support. 🔴✨

It was a day filled with colour, smiles, and a very special reminder of the power of coming together for such an important cause. ❤️

✨📚 Book Week at Little Rascals 📚✨

Last week we celebrated Book Week with so much excitement and imagination! The children loved exploring a variety of book-themed sensory trays, including We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Gruffalo and many more favourites.

It was wonderful to see the stories come to life through hands-on play, textures, and adventures that encouraged curiosity and creativity. 🐛🐻🐭
