Today’s transformations included a magical unicorn, a cheeky cat and two very happy customers. We think our educators may have discovered their newest hidden talent! 🌈💖

🔬✨ SCIENCE WEEK AT WATTLE & WONDER WINTHROP! ✨🔬

Our little scientists had some SERIOUS fun getting curious, experimenting and discovering the wonderful world of science this week! 🧪👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

From the exciting chemical reaction between bicarb soda and vinegar 🌋💥 to exploring how food colouring moves and disperses through water and shaving cream 🎨☁️, our children were busy making predictions, asking questions and watching their experiments come to life!

Through these hands-on experiences, the children explored cause and effect, colour mixing, observation, prediction and problem-solving — all while developing their natural curiosity and love of learning. 🌈🔍

Because at Wattle & Wonder, we believe the best learning happens when little minds can get messy, get curious and have LOTS of fun! 💛

🎉🎂 Meet our ECT, Miss Tia! 🌿✨

Today we had the very special birthday girl back from her adventures in Vietnam! 🇻🇳✈️ Miss Tia shared all about her incredible trip and the amazing things she got up to — including climbing 500 steps up a mountain ⛰️😮 and even zip-lining into a cave! 🪂🪨 Talk about an adventure!

We spent the day singing lots of songs, sharing stories and celebrating our wonderful Miss Tia. And this afternoon, we got to sing her HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎶🎈💕

It was so special to have her back and to celebrate her birthday together with the children. 🥰

🦷🪥 Say cheese for Dental Health Week! 😁✨

We had a very special visit from the wonderful Nateenee from Dental on Wheels today, who took our little learners on a fun-filled journey into the world of healthy teeth! 💛

We learned what makes our teeth dirty, how we can keep them sparkling clean, and why taking care of our teeth every day is so important. 🪥✨

Our children loved learning about brushing, making healthy choices and discovering all the ways we can look after our beautiful smiles. There were lots of smiles, questions and plenty of excitement along the way! 😄

A big thank you to Nateenee for making dental health so engaging, fun and memorable for our children! 🦷💫

Christmas came a little early today! 🎄✨

Our babies and toddlers had so much fun exploring our Christmas in July sensory trays, discovering different textures, colours and festive treasures through hands-on play. They had the best time exploring. Every little moment helped build curiosity, fine motor skills and imagination while creating plenty of smiles along the way! ❤️💚

Who says you have to wait until December to enjoy a little Christmas magic? 🎅❄️

Our little learners and educators had the BEST time celebrating National Pyjama Day at Wattle & Wonder Early Learning Centre Winthrop! There was plenty of laughter, cosy vibes and, of course, some delicious treats to enjoy, all for a gold coin donation.

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful families for your generosity. Every gold coin helps support The Pyjama Foundation’s Love of Learning Program, providing children in foster care with educational support, resources and positive one-on-one mentoring to help them build brighter futures. 💙📚 (The Pyjama Foundation⁠)

And yes… our educators loved having the perfect excuse to wear their PJs to work too! 😄

💙 Pyjama Day is this Friday at Wattle & Wonder! 💙

We’re proud to be taking part in National Pyjama Day and supporting The Pyjama Foundation, helping children in foster care access learning, mentoring and educational opportunities to reach their full potential.

The children are invited to wear their favourite pyjamas to the centre for a day filled with fun, learning and community spirit!
We kindly ask families to bring along a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going directly to The Pyjama Foundation. We’ll also have a range of delicious homemade baked treats available to purchase for a gold coin donation, so be sure to grab something yummy while supporting a fantastic cause.

🧺🐻 Calling all teddy bears! It was time to pack the picnic basket because our little adventurers enjoyed a day full of giggles, games, yummy treats and cuddles with their favourite furry friends. 🌼✨

There’s something so special about turning everyday moments into magical childhood memories. Watching imaginations come to life is our favourite part! 💛

We think every day should end with a teddy bears’ picnic! 🧸🌞

📚✨ Once upon a time… a group of Kindy children became amazing storytellers!

At Wattle & Wonder our School Readiness Program is all about bringing stories to life, and this term we’re exploring I Went Walking by Sue Machin and Julie Vivas. Through lots of repetition, actions and fun, our children are learning to confidently retell one of their very first stories with a clear beginning, middle and end.

Story retelling is so much more than remembering what happens next. It builds language, strengthens memory, develops sequencing skills, grows confidence and lays the foundations for future reading and writing success.

There’s nothing better than watching little faces light up as they proudly tell the story all by themselves. 🌟❤️

✈️🌎 All aboard for adventure! ☕🧳

Today at Wattle & Wonder Winthrop, our little explorers took flight on an exciting imaginary journey around the world! Our educators transformed the learning environment into a bustling airport, complete with a cosy coffee shop, check-in area, and aeroplane, inspiring children to dream, create and explore through play.

Imaginative play is so much more than fun—it is a powerful way for children to develop language and communication skills, build confidence, strengthen social and emotional skills, practise problem-solving, and make sense of the world around them. As children take on different roles and create their own stories, they develop creativity, resilience and the foundations for lifelong learning.

At Wattle & Wonder, we believe the most meaningful learning happens when children are engaged, curious and having fun. Watching their imaginations soar is one of the greatest joys of early childhood education! 💛
