As another year draws to an end at NIdo Hocking, we would like to thank our amazing Hocking families for choosing us to be your child's first teacher's.
It's been an amazing year full of learning,
On Friday we celebrated the learning of our children through meaningful displays, this really showcased the hard work our team has put in this year.
Not just colleagues but a family.
We hope you all have a lovely Christmas with your children.
(The service is still open over the holidays, closing for the public holidays only).

Today our children at NIdo Hocking were lucky enough to have Declan from Rhythm 'n' Run come out for our fortnightly session, I cannot say how amazing Declan is, the children look forward to his visits with anticipation, this week Declan showed us his trumpet skills playing "The last post" on this Remembrance Day, what an amazing opportunity for our children to learn more of our history, further developing gratitude whilst building understanding.

Our Nursery children have been following their interest in plants/flowers through exploring planting, our children enjoyed digging in the mulch and exploring different textures.
Through hands on child led exploration our littlest learners are developing environmental responsibility as we learn about plant cycles.
Where will this interest take us next?

In our nursery room our littlest learners have been exploring seasons, Currently we are in Djilba season also known as First spring.
Our Double flowering plum tree at the front of the service has been the focus of our children with its bright pink flowers, we made our own interpretation of our tree and engaged in some finger painting to make a beautiful spring mural.

Miss Sylvia is our Toddler room leader, Sylvia has been part of our Hocking team for 3 years,
Sylvia was a teacher in Colombia bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in the early childhood industry, also sharing her language throughout the service in language sessions.

At NIdo Hocking we encourage children to use hands on exploration to discover and explore.
Today our team took a trip back into their own childhoods as we explored open end resources and shared our creations with the team.
This was a great opportunity to step back and reflect on the value of child led play.
