Riovana Dance Company & Secret Studios has always stood by our founding principles of safety, respect and integrity.

We expect our staff, students, artists and visitors to abide by our codes of conduct that are displayed prominently at all times. Riovana has had a code of conduct since its inception in 2012, and Secret Studios since we opened its doors two and a half years ago.

Recent events have prompted us to evaluate our approach to reporting, investigating and dealing with incidences of harassment, misconduct and anti-social behaviour within the dance scene.

We have banned both men and women from our premises and events. The age, s*x, culture, ethnicity, gender, s*xual orientation or race of the person is irrelevant. We do not do this based on innuendo, suspicion, gossip or speculation. If a member of the team was not present in observation of the incident, or if the incident happened off premises, we will investigate, and come to a finding. We will communicate with all parties involved before banning the individual/individuals involved.
