SKIA - Northshore Dojo Northshore Dojo is part of "Shotokan Karate International Australia" instructed by Sensei Alastair Clark 6th Dan Black Belt.

"Oss".....Welcome to the SKIA - North Shore Dojo page!! If you have ever considered giving Karate a go then this club is for you. Come train with our friendly club and step up your fitness and peace of mind. All ages are welcome, we train every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6:30pm and finish up 8:30pm. Our Dojo is located in the middle of Mindarie Primary School in the recreation hall,

just follow the yellow signs. Our Instructor (Sensei):

Sensei Alastair started Karate in 1973 with JKA in Britain. He attained his 1st DAN under Enoeda Sensei in 1977 and graded to 3rd DAN with Enoeda Sensei. Prior to arriving in Australia in 1992 he managed his own club for 17 years. During this time he had 13 black belts all graded by Enoeda Sensei. He attended the summer courses at Crystal Palace in London and trained with all the top Japanese JKA instructors including having the privilege of training with Nakayama Sensei before his death. Changing from the JKA to SKIA in 2001 he began training at the Nollamara Dojo in Perth, Western Australia and has since attended all National Seminars with Kancho Kanazawa. He has held both State and National Champion titles for Kata and Kumite and as a member of the SKIA National Squad has represented Australia in two World Championships – Japan in 2006 and Greece in 2009 where he came 6th in the Masters Kata event. Also a member of the AKF State Team Alastair has trained at the main SKIF Honbu in Tokyo and also had the privilege of training at Mukai Sensei’s private Dojo in Fujiyoshida, Japan. Alastair was graded to 5th DAN by Kancho Kanazawa.

It’s with great sadness that I have to tell you, we lost a very good friend and Karateka to cancer. Albert has been a great friend and a great karate practitioner, he will be greatly missed. So sad I will let you know when the funeral will be. I know you all send your condolences to his wife and girls as I do. Can’t begin to tell you how sad I feel.😢😢😢

Hi Guys, Happy new year to you all. We have Squad training and trials for the National Team going to the World Championships this year. Saturday the 28th of January, 1pm to 3pm. At the Dojo.All are welcome to join in. If you are trying out please bring with you all of you competition results for the past 3 years. Please confirm you are coming.
