π€β€οΈππππ€ At Green Leaves Early Learning, weβre proudly All In for National Reconciliation Week 2026 π€β€οΈππππ€
From 27 May to 3 June, we come together to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.
Reconciliation starts with all of us, including our youngest learners. Through moments of curiosity, storytelling, music, art and connection, children begin to build understanding, respect and a sense of belonging.
Because every small conversation, shared experience and learning moment helps us to build towards a more inclusive future, together.

Yesterday our educators in Nursery Two spent International Bee Day educating our little friends about the awesomely important role of bees and other pollinators in our communities. We marked this special day by creating our own busy bees, using black paper and strips of yellow crepe paper, a fun and interactive way to develop the children's fine motor skills as they placed their yellow strips onto their black paper ππΈππΌππ΅π

π Caterpillar inquiry π§
Recently, the children in our Clarkson centre found a caterpillar, our educators had heaps of questions from everybody about twhere the caterpillars home was?
As an extension, educator Bella assisted the children in building a home using sustainable materials. One by one, the children added to the caterpillars home with what they felt would keep it secure and feel safe. They added soil, grass, sticks and various materials they found.
During a group time, the children named him βBubblesβ π₯ΉβΊοΈ. Bubbles has had amazing care from every child and also our parents! Bubbles has now burrowed and we are awaiting his return and then release.
As an extension, we have bought our centre a butterfly kit that arrived today so that the children can watch the life cycle for 6-8 weeks! We are so excited to embark on this journey! The children will be so excited to see them on Monday morning! βΊοΈπ€©
