💛 Dadirri: Deep Listening 💛

During our Walk on Country, our team took part in Dadirri, a practice originating from the Ngan'gikurunggurr (NANG-ee-koo-roong-goor) peoples of the Northern Territory.

Meaning "deep listening," Dadirri encourages us to slow down, be present, and connect with Country, culture and one another through quiet reflection.

A powerful reminder that listening is an important part of learning and reconciliation. ✨

💛 Walking Together on Country 💛

Despite a rainy start to the morning on Friday, our Atlantis Group Support Office team didn't let the weather stop them as they came together for a Walk on Country at Yellagonga Regional Park as part of National Reconciliation Week.

Wearing yellow in support, they took the opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on the importance of connection to Country, culture and community. Throughout the experience, they explored some of the unique features of the wetlands, participated in the practice of Dadirri, deep listening and quiet awareness, and concluded with a meaningful yarning circle where they shared reflections and learnings from the day.

Experiences like these encourage us to slow down, listen with intention, and continue our journey towards greater understanding, respect and reconciliation.

💛 Walking together, learning together, growing together.

📚🌙 One Story, One Centre, Creating Magic Moments 🌙📚

This year’s National Simultaneous Storytime was a wonderful celebration of connection, community and learning at Ocean Keys Education Centre.

All of our Early Learning rooms came together for one special shared reading of Luna Roo, creating a beautiful sense of belonging as children gathered side by side to enjoy the story together.

From there, the learning continued across the centre through meaningful experiences with TAG Sports. Inspired by Luna Roo’s soccer theme, both our Early Learning and OSHC children explored movement, teamwork and active play through engaging sports sessions connected to the story.

From shared storytelling to hands-on learning experiences, it was a special reminder of how stories can bring us together, spark curiosity and inspire learning in so many meaningful ways.

Thank you to our educators and TAG Sports team for making National Simultaneous Storytime such a memorable experience for our children 💙

⚽📚 Luna Roo Inspires Teamwork & Skills 🦘

As part of National Simultaneous Storytime, our OSHC children extended this year’s book, Luna Roo, beyond the pages through a meaningful TAG Sports session inspired by the story.

Using the soccer theme from the book as a starting point, children took part in intentional drills focused on ball control, goal shooting and teamwork. Throughout the session they built confidence, developed coordination and worked together to encourage one another as they practiced new skills.

It was a wonderful way to connect literacy with movement and active learning, bringing the themes of Luna Roo to life in a fun, engaging and memorable experience for our OSHC children.

A big thank you to our TAG Sports team for creating opportunities that inspire learning through play and movement 💙

📚⚽🦘 Bringing Luna Roo to life through movement and play!

As part of this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime, our in-house sports program, TAG Sports, created a fun and engaging learning experience inspired by this year’s book, Luna Roo, for our children at Atlantis Education Centre Ocean Keys

Using the story’s soccer theme as a starting point, children explored a range of intentional movement experiences that incorporated ball skills, obstacle and active play while also connecting with the Australian animals and themes woven throughout the story.

It was such a meaningful way to extend literacy beyond the pages of the book, encouraging children to build confidence, coordination and social connections through movement-based learning.

We love seeing stories spark curiosity, creativity and hands-on learning in so many different ways 💙

💛 Wanjoo (Welcome) to Reconciliation Week 💛

At Atlantis Education Centre Ocean Keys one of our educators has been working alongside a group of our OSHC children to learn the Auslan signs to a beautiful Noongar Wanjoo (Welcome) song.

Bringing together Noongar language and Auslan in this way creates a meaningful opportunity for children to connect with culture, communication and community. Through song and signing, they are building understanding, showing respect for First Nations perspectives, and celebrating the many ways we can connect with one another.

What a beautiful example of children learning with open hearts and open minds. ✨

From storytelling and creative experiences to music & dance, language and shared conversations, we’re excited to create opportunities for meaningful learning and connection together.

We can’t wait to share what’s planned across our centres this week and celebrate these important moments with our community.

✨ Watch this space as we showcase the wonderful learning experiences taking place throughout the week!
