There's nothing more affirming than seeing research confirm what our Educators witness first-hand every day. That when children move, play and explore, they don't just grow stronger. They grow as learners, as friends, and as little people finding their place in the world. 💙
We're proud to see this beautiful piece from The Kids Research Institute Australia and Play Active, celebrating the role early learning services play in children's health research this National Science Week. 🔬
Among the voices featured is our very own CEO, Todd Dawson, a long-term research collaborator who has championed evidence-based early years practice for well over a decade.
"For us it came down to a simple conviction," Todd shares. "The early years aren't a rehearsal for development, they are the development. We suspected that active play did far more than build strong bodies, but partnering with Play Active and The Kids Research Institute Australia meant we didn't have to rely on assumption. We could ground our practice in real research and see the results across every area of development for ourselves."
That belief sits at the heart of how we work. "What's been most exciting," Todd adds, "is seeing benefits that reach well beyond the physical, into children's numeracy, literacy, and their social and emotional development. When you get active play right, you're not choosing between physical health and learning. You're strengthening both at once."
We're honoured to stand alongside The Kids Research Institute Australia, Play Active, and every service across the country contributing to healthier futures for our children.
