As we gathered for our final meeting on 30 June 2026, club president Dennis honoured the memory of our beloved member, Gerry Freedman, who passed away earlier this week.
Gerry's warmth, humour, and encouragement will always be remembered.
Toastmaster Paula set an uplifting tone with the theme: **Favourite Books and Movies**, introducing speakers who shared personal insights.
A highlight of the evening was Joke Master Patrick, who had everyone in stitches with his cheeky humour.
Liz delivered her icebreaker speech, charming us as she introduced herself—confusing us with her choice of a red jacket instead of her favourite colour blue!
Steve reminisced about Gerry as a true gentleman and a valued customer, illustrating the positive impact he had on us all.
Table Topic Master Ezilma, dressed as a character from Harry Potter, creatively engaged participants with her imaginative questions.
Dennis received the Best Table Topics Speaker award for his outstanding contribution.
Alisan confidently took on the role of grammarian, introducing the word of the day, “Resilient,” while Luzanne provided a thorough timing report.
Our Hark Master, Pieter, kept us attentive with delightful chocolates as he tested our listening skills.
In a heartfelt moment, Dennis stepped down as club president, passing the baton to the new incoming president, Ezilma.
Paula presented him with a thoughtful gift—a book titled “The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness”—in appreciation of his year of dedicated leadership.
Lastly, we expressed gratitude to our guests, Eran and Pam, and to all our members who contributed to making this a memorable meeting. Here’s to the spirit of growth and camaraderie as we move forward!
