Hi my name is Simone. I'm 49 years old and I have 4 children of my own ranging in age from 14-29yrs. I also have a foster child who is currently living with us and is now a part of our family. I'm a very open and relaxed person and I love a chat. I've been welcoming children into my home for over 6 years now. I love that family day care is a small group of children, and the most important thing fo
r me is that they feel loved and at home when they come into my house. As the group is so small the children are given the opportunity to form strong bonds with each other and myself. My home becomes like an extended family while there away from their parents for the day. I love knowing that each child feels secure knowing I'm the one saying hello in the morning and goodbye at the end of the day. I have a range of activities available for the children each day, these could be developmentally directed, child interest, themed or just free play. I practice a play based learning approach where learning opportunities are taken advantage of as the children play and interact with the world around them. I organize activities with each child's interests and developmental needs in mind. Each parent is sent a summery including pictures of what there child has been up to while at daycare with a short description of what learning is occurring. I will also give you a quick run down of your child's day when you come to collect them.
