Celebrating National Reconciliation Week
This week, the children explored the importance of caring for Country through a meaningful nature walk around our playground. Together, they collected native leaves, seed pods, bark, flowers, and small wooden sticks while learning about how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the Traditional Owners of the land, have cared for and connected with Country for thousands of years.
Through hands-on exploration and meaningful conversations, the children developed a deeper appreciation for nature, respect for the land, and understanding of the rich cultural knowledge passed down through generations.
We are proud to support children in building connections, respect, and awareness during National Reconciliation Week. ❤️🖤💛

🦷✨ Dental Visit at Nido Treeby Today! ✨🦷
Today our little learners had a wonderful experience exploring the importance of healthy smiles as they took part in a special dental visit. The children were excited and curious as they learned all about how to care for their teeth, what dentists do, and why brushing and healthy eating help keep our smiles strong and healthy. 😄🪥
A very big thank you to Paola from Daycare Dental for spending time with us today and sharing her knowledge in such a warm and engaging way. The children showed so much curiosity, asked thoughtful questions, and even shared plenty of brave smiles throughout the experience!
It was a fantastic opportunity to support children’s understanding of self-care, wellbeing, and building positive attitudes towards dental health from an early age.

🌿🌧️ Classroom 2 Rainforest Exploration 🌧️🌿
Classroom 2 has been exploring the rainforest as part of their learning about weather and natural environments. The children showed wonderful curiosity and engagement as they investigated and created using a variety of loose parts and natural materials including leaves, bamboo, sticks, pop sticks, and glittery leaf sequins.
Through this experience, children were encouraged to observe, imagine, create, and experiment, building their understanding of the natural world in meaningful and hands-on ways.
This links to the Nido Kindergarten Curriculum – Learning Branch 2: Confident Learners, supporting children to develop creativity, curiosity, and confidence in their thinking and exploration.
It also connects to the EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework), particularly:
🌱 Outcome 2 – Children are connected with and contribute to their world
🌱 Outcome 4 – Children are confident and involved learners
A beautiful learning experience filled with discovery, imagination, and wonder.

At Nido Treeby, we came together to honor and reflect on the significance of ANZAC Day ❤️
Across all classrooms, children engaged in meaningful experiences that helped them explore the values of courage, remembrance, and community. From creating beautiful poppy artwork, listening to stories, participating in quiet reflection moments, and engaging in sensory and creative activities — each space embraced this important day in a way that was age-appropriate and respectful.
We are so proud of how our children showed curiosity, empathy, and respect as they learned about the importance of remembering those who have served and sacrificed.
Lest we forget 🌺
