Featuring solo and ensemble works by Brouwer, Pujol, Llobet, Barrios, Svoboda and more, this varied program offers a chance to hear some of WA’s most exciting emerging classical guitarists.

Calling all classical guitarists in Years 10–12 – Accelerate! Guitars is back!
Work closely with Chair of Guitar Jonathan Fitzgerald and special guest artists in a program focused on practical, hands-on learning. Through workshops and masterclasses, you’ll receive individualised feedback on your repertoire, while also building ensemble skills as part of the UWA Guitar Ensemble.
The program concludes with a concert featuring both solo and ensemble performances alongside students from the UWA Guitar Studio.
Who can apply?
- Classical guitarists at AMEB Grade 5+ (or equivalent)
- Ideal for ATAR Music students, but ATAR enrolment is not required
Dates: Fridays 24 April - 15 May | 4.30-6.30pm
Concert: Saturday 16 May 2026 | 5pm

The UWA Guitar Studio ends the year with a bang in our final concert of 2025 — an epic marathon performance of Villa-Lobos’s complete Etudes and Preludes at 7pm on 19 November at Lyric's Underground in Maylands.
This is a rare chance to experience classical guitar outside the context of a concert hall — grab a drink, enjoy some food from the bar, and settle in for a night of vibrant Brazilian guitar music.
