Join us for an evening of classical guitar, bringing together talented high-school musicians from UWA’s Accelerate! program with emerging artists from the UWA Guitar Studio.

Featuring solo and ensemble works by Brouwer, Pujol, Llobet, Barrios, Svoboda and more, this varied program offers a chance to hear some of WA’s most exciting emerging classical guitarists.

Calling all classical guitarists in Years 10–12 – Accelerate! Guitars is back!

Work closely with Chair of Guitar Jonathan Fitzgerald and special guest artists in a program focused on practical, hands-on learning. Through workshops and masterclasses, you’ll receive individualised feedback on your repertoire, while also building ensemble skills as part of the UWA Guitar Ensemble.

The program concludes with a concert featuring both solo and ensemble performances alongside students from the UWA Guitar Studio.

Who can apply?
- Classical guitarists at AMEB Grade 5+ (or equivalent)
- Ideal for ATAR Music students, but ATAR enrolment is not required

Dates: Fridays 24 April - 15 May | 4.30-6.30pm

A big thanks to everyone who came out to our Villa-Lobos Marathon Concert last night - it was a great way to close out the year. We've got lots planned for 2026, so stay tuned!

The UWA Guitar Studio ends the year with a bang in our final concert of 2025 — an epic marathon performance of Villa-Lobos’s complete Etudes and Preludes at 7pm on 19 November at Lyric's Underground in Maylands.

This is a rare chance to experience classical guitar outside the context of a concert hall — grab a drink, enjoy some food from the bar, and settle in for a night of vibrant Brazilian guitar music.
