Our educators have available our traffic light to identify emotions and help our children to manage them.
They can build up this Emotions Control Stoplight to help the children to identify anger feelings in order to learn which things can be done to calm down.
– RED LIGHT: When you feel like you might lose control, STOP
– YELLOW LIGHT: Next, CALM DOWN and think of a solution to your problem
– GREEN LIGHT: When you are calm, you can GO ahead and solve your problem!

Introducing Clara in Edgewater.
“I‘m Clara and I have a daughter who is one year old. I’m originally from South America but I’ve been in Perth since 2014. After working in childcare for several years, I decided to start a new exciting journey and open my own family day care. I was glad to find Bluelab, as I love the Reggio Emilia approach.
I believe that the first years in a child’s life are critical for development. Learning needs to be an enjoyable experience where the child is the centre of this learning. The role of the educator is to observe and monitor the children’s progress and interests and to support learning by providing carefully planned experiences. I believe children are highly capable, we just need to allow them to explore and gain independence, as this will build their self-esteem. I believe each child is unique and his or her talents must be nurtured to reach their full potential. I love seeing children flourish in their development and become confident learners.”
