This NAIDOC Week, AngliSchools joins communities across Australia in recognising and celebrating the history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The 2026 theme, 50 Years of Deadly, marks five decades of NAIDOC as a national movement, honouring the Elders, leaders, artists, advocates and communities who have helped shape and champion it.

With NAIDOC Week falling during the school holidays, a number of our schools marked the week earlier in term. Here are some moments from across AngliSchools.

Last week, AngliSchools staff from Victoria and New South Wales came together as one community at Cathedral College Wangaratta for Anglican Identity Day.

The day began in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd with a welcome from Mr Ivan McLean, Chief Operating Officer of AngliSchools, followed by a Eucharist led by The Right Reverend Clarence E Bester, Bishop of Wangaratta.

Staff also heard from Mr Simon Smart, Executive Director of the Centre for Public Christianity, who explored the themes of Creation, Identity, Community and Vocation, before The Reverend Peter Laurence OAM, Chief Executive Officer of AngliSchools, delivered the CEO Address and Awards Presentation.

We warmly congratulate this year’s CEO Award recipients: Mrs Jacinta Robbins, recognised for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and Mr Wilfred Sanders-Berg, recognised for Outstanding Service to the School Community.
