Cricket Carnival - Our Year 5 and 6 students had an absolute blast the cricket carnival held in Term 1.

We joined four other schools - Our Lady of Lourde, St Lawrence Primary School, St Gerard's Catholic Primary School and Our Lady of Mercy.

The energy, teamwork and sportsmanship on display were incredible. So proud of all the teams for giving it 100%. We are already looking forward to the next match!

Harmony Day celebration at Majella is always so vibrant! On 18th March, we celebrated our cultural diversity by wearing orange or our unique traditional costumes. A huge thank you to all of the students and staff who participated in the celebrations!

In Term 1 this year, our Year 5 and 6 students had an education excursion to the Art Gallery of Western Australia. The students engaged in activities that emphasize slow looking, creative experimentation and personal expression, allowing them to explore diverse perspectives and develop their artistic skills with various materials.

Last Thursday our Kindergarten and Preprimary students had an exciting excursion to Caversham Wildlife Park. They enjoyed learning through interactive experiences such as feeding kangeroos and seeing and touching koalas, wombats and snakes up close. What a fun day for all of them!

On 16th October, our whole school community came together to celebrate a very special day - St Gerard Majella's Feast Day. Our celebrations started with a whole school Liturgy, followed by a Tabloid Sports afternoon that all students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 participated in. The students participated in many different sports activities in groups and it was a fun day for all - ending with an icy pole for all students! We appreciate the staff for their help and support with the Liturgy and Tabloid Sports afternoon.

On this day we remember the special qualities of St Gerard Majella and try to live our lives like him.

St Gerard Majella was born into a humble family in the south of Italy on the 6th April 1726. By the age of 26, he became a priest. During his life, he was very close to the peasants and other outsiders who lived in the countryside. In his work with the Redemptorist community, he held different roles such as – gardener, sacristan, tailor, porter, cook, carpenter, and clerk of works on the new buildings at Caposele.

Some of St Gerard Majella's reported miracles include - restoring life to a boy who had fallen from a high cliff, blessing the scarce supply of wheat belonging to a poor family and making it last until the next harvest, and several times multiplying the bread that he was distributing to the poor.

We also remember St Gerard as the patron saint of mothers.

Our Intensive English Centre students had the most amazing visit from our local fire fighters yesterday. We learnt about our firefighters heroes who run toward danger to protect communities. They demonstrated some of their expertise in tackling fires and the students had a chance to tour the fire truck and use some of the equipment. Thank you to the Malaga Fire Department!
