✨ 50 Years of Deadly! ✨ Majella Catholic Primary School celebrated NAIDOC Day 2026, honouring the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We kicked off our celebrations with a beautiful whole-school liturgy, followed by exciting cross-class buddy activities! 🎨 Students immersed themselves in First Nations traditions by creating oil pastel artwork, listening to Dreaming stories, cooking traditional damper, learning the Umbakumba dance, and playing team sports.

A massive thank you to our incredible NAIDOC Committee staff for organising such a meaningful day, and to our wonderful Year 6 leaders for running the activity stations so beautifully! 🌟

Yesterday Majella celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime by reading the story Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller.

Luna Roo captures the excitement of football while sharing a heartwarming message about courage, determination, and believing in yourself. As the children at Majella love soccer, this theme was right up their alley!

The children then learnt how to draw a kangaroo and decorated it to look like Luna Roo.

Remember "when someone doubts you or you feel you don’t belong, muster all your inner strength and prove that someone wrong."

Cricket Carnival - Our Year 5 and 6 students had an absolute blast the cricket carnival held in Term 1.

We joined four other schools - Our Lady of Lourde, St Lawrence Primary School, St Gerard's Catholic Primary School and Our Lady of Mercy.

The energy, teamwork and sportsmanship on display were incredible. So proud of all the teams for giving it 100%. We are already looking forward to the next match!

In Term 1 this year, our Year 5 and 6 students had an education excursion to the Art Gallery of Western Australia. The students engaged in activities that emphasize slow looking, creative experimentation and personal expression, allowing them to explore diverse perspectives and develop their artistic skills with various materials.
