A few of our colleagues attended the Graduation ceremony on Feb 6th. Congratulations to @ Bolormaa Shinjee for getting her PhD with a VC Commendation. Two of our MA Applied Linguistics students came from Saigon to receive their degrees and were overwhelmed by how grand the ceremony was.

Our Applied Linguistics, TESOL and Languages research cluster members had a huge week at the ALAA conference hosted by CDU in Darwin... Prof Toni Dobinson kick started the conference with her keynote presentation, followed by the official book launch for the co-edited volume about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages co-edited by Dr Carly Steele, Dr Robyn Ober and Prof Rhonda Oliver. There were individual talks and workshops from A/Prof Julian Chen and colleague A/Prof Leonardo Veliz, Dr Helen McCarthy and student Lissy Jackson, and Carly & Toni accepted the ARAL best paper runner-up prize on behalf of Dr Ana Tankosic & Dr Eldin Malik. What a week!
