Forensic Science Services
The Forensic Science Services team provides science based investigation services to clients all over the world. The services offered primarily are based around profiling of forensic evidence using state of the art analytical instrumentation. The team is best known for its Gold Fingerprinting service where stolen gold can be linked back to a mine of origin. After establishing a good reputation for delivery of high-end scientific problem solving services the team is also starting to look to the future and through R&D efforts is looking to apply its state of the art technology in a proactive manner, hopefully to reduce crime and make for a safer community.
Food Forensics
TSW Analytical identified that as food became a global commodity with it would come real challenges for producers, importers, exporters, regulators and of course consumers.
The traceability of a food product is critical to the entire food industry. From a consumer perceptive a foods origin is often considered in the decision to purchase a particular product. For importers, exporters and regulators the traceability is important for bio-security, trade and also managing the export risks for producers, processors and distributors.
TSW has developed a number of scientific based tools to assist in the validation of a foods traceability or origin. The tools developed used the chemical fingerprint of the food to trace where in the world the food came from. The ability to determine the origin of a food enables the validation of food labels and also validation of foods supply and traceability system.
Mineral Chemistry
The TSW team are well positioned to tackle almost any mineral based challenge. The team routinely undertakes complicated assays on challenging matrices with success.
In addition to analytical assays the team has extensive experience in development of customised mineral beneficiation protocols for complicated ores. The development of highly efficient beneficiation methods is becoming very important as higher yielding products from often lower grade ores are expected. It is also now critical that the protocol be considerate of not only the yield of the product but also the environment.
The TSW team has also developed its very own geochemical exploration technology. The technology has been developed to look for the next generation of ore bodies which are most likely to be deeply buried and often with no surface expression or traditional geological indicators. The best feature of the technology is that it can be used on soil samples (no drilling or rock chips required) which facilitates the efficient coverage of vast exploration areas. The team also offers support in the interpretation of the analytical data to assist in the identification of possible anomalies.
