Japanese Martial Arts - Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu Dojo All these nine schools have different techniques, weapons and philosophical approaches.

The Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is a school created by Dr. Massaki Hatsumi which main goal is to teach and spread the knowledge of nine traditional Japanese martial arts. Ninjutsu or Ninpo is taught in three of nine schools within the Bujinkan: Togakure Ryu, Gyokushin Ryu and Kumogakure Ryu. But Ninjutsu is not what Hollywood movies have shown us for the past 50 years. The myth of the shadow warrior we

Saturday morning energy 💥

Nothing beats kicking off the weekend with our mini Ninjas than bringing the hype, the smiles, and the effort 👊

Today we went back to basics — learning and refining our rolling, punches, and dialing in those kicks. Coordination and gross motor skills foundations build strong martial artists, specially at this age.

Proud of the focus, the discipline, the listening skills and the energy these kids bring every single session 🔥 always with a smile in their faces.

Playing is a fundamental part of learning. Always play with an open heart, like a 3 year old. This is Sanshin.

As SĂ´ke says: Understand?, Good, Play...

🔥 Building Foundations, Expanding Skills 🔥

Tonight’s session at the dojo started with Kihon Happo — the fundamental movements that form the backbone of our taijutsu. Kamae, timing, distance… everything begins here.

Seeking body alignment and movement allows permission for variations and flow, we then introduced Hanbōjutsu — exploring how these same principles extend into weapon work. The hanbō becomes an extension of the body then, not just a tool.

From basics to application — always refining, always evolving.

🥋 Train the fundamentals.
⚔️ Apply with intent.
🧠 Move with awareness.

Tonight at the dojo, we continue working Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu – Tai no Kata, refining structure, balance, and control.

But before diving deep, we took a moment to reset the body and mind… A quick warm-up with Shuriken Jutsu (throwing weapons) and Hojo Jutsu (rope work) — reconnecting with distance, timing, and precision from Togakure Ryu.

Different tools, same principles.
Everything is connected.

What a great Saturday we had with the kids in the dĂ´jĂ´ during the school holidays.

Is always great to see how they are growing up and their personalities popping up.

This always reminds me of something that Sôke referred to during a class in the old honbu dôjô a few years back: ..."always train Martial Arts with the heart of a three year old"... this is sanshin (三心).

No expectations, follow your teacher/master/leader, smile, play, learn, enjoy. Like a three year old would do.

Great opportunity to share with my good friend at his dojo in Toronto.

There is a constant in every dojo where SĂ´ke has left his mark... faces looking for training and knowledge, hearts fulfilled with budĂ´, smiles mixed with sweat...

I jump back on the road, knowing that there is another light of SĂ´ke and from our teacher , leading the way as best as we can.

All the best Fabio, keep doing the great work you are doing mate

Thanks for all the attentions and details

See you soon!

Last class of 2024!

It's been an incredibly good year for the dojo, with almost everyone visiting Japan back in September.

I am very proud of this group of people that week after week keep coming to class searching for Hatsumi Sensei's teachings. An enormous responsibility that keeps firing my desire for learning.

Enjoy the break, and celebrate with family, friends, and buyu.

See you next year!
