Last week, the student councillors, the Year 6 representatives in SRC, and the Cultural Captains went to the Kent Street Leadership Day Workshop. We learnt how to improve as leaders, what being a leader means to us and others, and how to contribute and communicate as a group.
The eight of us will be working on a project about how we can help life below the water.

METRONET TREE PLANTING
Many of you may remember the fire at our school a couple of years ago, which resulted in an evacuation and the loss of many trees. We are excited to share that this week, Metronet has been onsite replanting the area with a range of beautiful native trees.
We look forward to watching them grow over the coming years, attracting native birds and bees, and helping to create a greener, more welcoming outlook along the railway line. Thank you to Metronet for supporting the restoration of this space for our school community!

Our students recently joined thousands of children across Australia in celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime! 📚✨
Students gathered together to enjoy this year’s featured story, sharing in the joy of reading at the same time as schools, libraries and communities around the country. It was wonderful to see so much excitement, imagination and engagement as students listened, laughed and joined in with the story.
Events like Simultaneous Storytime help foster a love of books, literacy and learning, while bringing our school community together through the magic of storytelling. Thank you to our staff for helping make the experience so special for our students!

Last Friday we celebrated both National Walk Safely to School Day and Thank Your Traffic Warden Day — and what a fantastic morning it was!
It was wonderful to see so many students and families walking and riding to school, with the P&C Bike Bus proving to be a huge success. Students also enjoyed a healthy breakfast thanks to the generous sponsorship from Woolworths.
A very special thank you goes to our wonderful crossing guard, Susan. Susan reached out to the school afterwards to thank everyone for the thoughtful gift, sharing that she is “a very lucky crossing guard. She has a great school, lovely parents and polite wonderful children.”
We are incredibly lucky to have Susan supporting our school community each day. Thank you to everyone who helped make the morning such a positive and successful event!
