OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Kalamunda Out of School Centre acknowledges the unique time
of middle childhood. We believe that children learn best through play based activities. Our program reflects the Early Years Learning Framework and provides a supportive environment where children can ask questions, solve problems and engage in positive social interactions. We recognise that by providing play and leis

ure opportunities for children to learn they discover, create and imagine. Our environment supports the wellbeing and development of children through vibrant and flexible spaces. We aim to support children in developing an increased awareness of healthy lifestyles and nutrition by incorporating their ideas within a flexible menu. Partnerships with families are based on effective communication and documentation. Educators endeavour to communicate freely, share insight and perspectives and engage in shared decision making. As Educators we work in a collaborative way, sharing our knowledge and expertise. We work with children to discover ideas, provide opportunities for learning and engage them in experiences. We are committed to extending our skills and abilities through ongoing professional development. Educators view culture and the context of family as central to children’s sense of being and belonging and for success in lifelong learning. We strive for cultural competence, diversity and believe that all staff, families and children should be treated with respect fairness and equity.

At KOSC we belive in supporting our families and caring for our community. Our Kids Community Wardrobe 'ready to grow' is a simple way that we can help one another.

Families are welcome to donate children's clothes that are clean and in good condition, and any parents who may need something are free to take what their child might like or need.

It's all about sharing, reducing waste, and helping our community grow stronger together 🌿😀

If you have any clothes your children have outgrown, we would love to add them to our wardrobe!

The sounds of a KOSC morning 🌿
Kids chatting, birds calling, and the sound everyone listens for — the black cockatoos.
The children love spotting them sitting in our marri trees, calling to each other as they stop by for a feed. These beautiful visitors are always welcome here, and soon they’ll be able to enjoy everything our black cockatoo garden has to offer 🖤🌳

We have FINALLY gotten our new sign put up! This sign was kindly donated to us by Signarama Canningvale . How good does it look!

Our Summer Vacation Care Program is now out!

We can't wait for the summer Vacation program to commence! We have loads of fun and exciting experiences, incursions and excursions.

We have lots of fun days planned from water day, Minecraft day, K-pop demon hunters Day and lots more!

Today we spent the day surrounded by nature, laughter and some seriously fun mini golf! From navigating tricky courses to cheering each other on, it was a day full of smiles and teamwork! ⛳️🏌‍♂️

A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at - your kindness and hospitality made the experience even more memorable. We felt so welcomed and well looked after. 🌿💚

We are already looking forward to our next visit!
