Happy St Patrick's Day to all from all the educators and leprechauns at Mount Lawley Child Care Centre! "The luck of the Irish to ye"

Today at 11am, all the children and staff took a moment to reflect on those who have fallen.
We had been explaining to the children that today was a day to remember and to thank those who tried very hard to make our world safe place to live.
The children made poppy’s and wreaths and read a story. All the staff were very proud that every child sat in silence…. Listened to the last post and didn’t speak until we told them it was time.
Lest we forget.

As you all, know earlier this year as part of the Small Election Commission Grant a few months ago Mount Lawley Child Care Centre received a $10,000 grant.
We sat with children and made a wish list of everything we would like to have to make our centre even more fun.
The children played a big part in unpacking the parcels and even helped put some equipment together …. A big thank you to all the parents that also helped assemble our new equipment (we have a few more times if you are able to help us out again)
A big thank you to Frank Paolino MLA of Mount Lawley and Department of Communities Grants Team for the generous donation. We have been able to purchase a great range of educational toys and equipment for the children.
We were very lucky on Wednesday when Frank took time out of this busy schedule to come and visit so the children could thank Frank (aka to the children Big Frank as we have little Frankie) and have a play with all our new toys.

Thank you to you all for all your well wishes, gifts and thoughts to help us celebrate Educator Appreciation Day today. We are very grateful this poem helps us explain why do this every day, so thank you for letting us be a part of your children's lives.

We had so much fun with Book Week last week. We enjoyed our Book Week Menu and read the book that the dish represented. Apart from reading so many stories we had lots of fun dressing up…. Thank you to all the children, parents and staff for the efforts they went too.
We always knew the children loved books and reading so having the week to celebrate books was enjoyable for all.
Our next event is Educators Appreciation Day (it is September 3rd ) but we will celebrate all week.
The children are busy decorating warm fuzzy bags which will be out all week to put your thoughts and warm fuzzies into...
