A major investment in WA's clean energy future 🌱⚡

The Western Australian and Australian Governments have announced a $32 million investment to establish a state-of-the-art Clean Energy Skills Hub in WA.

An initiative of the Clean Energy Skills National Centre of Excellence (CESNCE), a central Hub will be established at North Metropolitan TAFE’s Midland campus and will connect with up to four specialist regional hubs to provide practical training in clean energy technologies, including solar and wind energy, battery storage systems and related technologies.

A major boost for WA's future electricians⚡

The State Government is investing $5 million in a new state-of-the-art electrical training facility at South Metropolitan TAFE's Rockingham campus to help skill electrical apprentices and pre-apprentices.

The purpose-built workshop will expand access to hands-on electrical training to skill Western Australians for careers in high-demand industries including building and construction, defence, advanced manufacturing and clean energy.

As part of our National Skills Week series, meet Kaleesha, whose journey has come full circle.

After beginning her healthcare journey as a student at South Regional TAFE, she went on to complete a nursing degree and build valuable industry experience as a Registered Nurse. Today, she's back at South Regional TAFE as a lecturer, helping to inspire and develop the next generation of nurses.

"I believe sharing my skills and experience is important because it gives the next generation the opportunity to learn from real-life experiences. I enjoy supporting students, sharing what I have learned and helping them become caring and capable nurses."

A major milestone for Collie âś…

The first students have started training at the new $8.6 million Collie Transition Training Centre, part of the State Government's more than $700 million commitment to the Collie Just Transition.

The facility's first cohort began the Skidsteer Skill Set this month, becoming the first students to train at the purpose-built centre.

Complementing the existing South Regional TAFE Collie Campus, the Centre has capacity for 550 training places each year and will support local workers to build the skills needed for emerging industries and future job opportunities across Collie and the South West.
